REAR MUDFLAP?
I am looking to add a mudflap on the rear of my 2012 RT. Apparently while riding in the rain I make rooster tails. Looking at a HD flap that MIGHT work. Any ideas? Thanks all!

Little checking..!!
I think there have been several folks that have added flaps. Might do a search and see. Good luck..!!

We now have over 26K on this flap and it does work and work well. Just ask my wife. Multiple cross-country journeys with many rain days and no problems. As stated in the original post.

I took a fender from a trailer and cut it into several pieces then welded it back together. Then I made a bracket to mount it to the trailer hitch.

Thanks All!
Thank you for your suggestions.
JT and I have been in contact regarding his design.
I will wait and see. Didn't know that big old tire threw stuff at the people behind me.....:o)
Oh, and Spyders do "hill climb".

I think that Inspector Gadget also has one...

I installed a mudflap on my 2013 RT-S. It does really great in keeping "stuff" off the passenger. However, it's not so good in keeping crap off my trailer when I'm hauling it. I'm going to have to come up with a better mouse trap. Something like the earlier post in this thread or Lamont's.

This is a photo of what I put in my earlier post if you didn't follow the link. Generic mudflap from an auto store for a pickup truck. Use all SS fasteners. Keep it simple. Works great.

When I got my trailer hitch installed, the bike came back with the mud flap installed. I'm presuming it came from BRP as part of the installation kit.

Yep, and the mud and water as it leaves the tire goes between the fender and the hitch fender... you should see one riding in the rain and watch the rooster tail it is amazing.

I made these from harness leather scraps available from a local shop. The front ones are attached to an aluminum bracket that I fashioned and mounted to the fender with the existing reflector screws.

I got the one I ordered from Tricled today. Sorry JT, still keep me on your list, but I guess there a couple of rides still coming up.
That flap looks nice Bob. I would like to put something on the one I bought to class it up a bit. Any ideas? Studs of some sort I guess. It is VERY thick and heavy.

Thanks. Studs, conchos and rivets are available from leather supply houses. These come in different styles for use on different thicknesses of leather and there is no reason why they couldn't be applied to plastic or even metal flaps.
