Gremlin Bell on Trade In

So about to trade in my 09 RS for a new 2012 RSS..........Do I take off my gremlin bell and put it on my new ride as the dealer will probably remove it and toss it before my old girl hits their showroom floor. What is the "etiquette" on Gremlin Bells??????

A gremlin bell belongs to the owner not the bike. Take it with you.

If a new gremlin bell comes into your life you can always retire the old one with honors.

Interesting question..I would think that the bell was given to protect both you and the roadster from the road gremlins. From this site it seem that we lean more towards protecting the roadster because of recent problems. Regardless the bell was for that bike and hopefully did it's job. It should now hang in a place of honor and a new one should go with the new ryde...could be new gremlins are immune to old bells.. Jmho

I have a slightly different take on this issue...
Point it out to the dealer, and ask them if they can polish it for the next owner... A goodwill gesture from you for continuing good luck with the bike for it's new owner!
(The owner may even want to give you a new bell for your new ride... )

All good ideas above. I moved my bells from one vehicle to the other. I do like the idea of providing it as gift to the new owner--as long as the dealer is in the loop. Some dealers could care less though.

i left my bell on my last bike i sold and have to get a new one for this bike, as i understand it over the years the bell should be bought for you by a riding buddy or a good friend and there should be a new bell for each bike also it should be put as low to the road as possible to catch the bad spirits b4 the get into the bike
