What's up with the speedometer?
I'm not sure why Can-am would design a speedometer that goes to 200mph, but I think it is rediculous. The needle barely moves, good thing there is a digital display.
I don't know what the top speed of a Spyder is, but I doubt very many have hit 100mph.
Any idea what the point of a 200mph speedo is?

KMPH. And mine has seen 117 mph
Just sayin'............
Three in the garage, and I think I can fit at least one more in.....and then we will have to build another garage.
The roads in NY are so bad that I am glad we bought a Ryker Rally
Just sayin'............

My unprofessional opinion is that the put the 200 on there so when you switch it over to metric (Canada) it will have enough room to handle the kph.

KILOMETERS
the SPEEDO was designed for both MPH & KPH... so at 120 MPH, you would be going 200 KPH....
you can program the speedo in either of the two.... so don't panic...

If you put the speedo in metric mode, it shows the speeds in KPH. 100 kph (= 62 mph) or so. 200 kph or about (124 mph). This is better than trying to read the kph numbers on the split scales we are used to on our cars here.
When I made my trip to Canada a couple years back, just a couple pushes of the mode buttons and I was driving at the proper KPH like a pro. 100 did not seem fast at all.

Unlike some analog speedometers, which are marked with dual scales, the Spyder speedometer is actually digitally driven and has user selectable units. Both units use the same scale, and the needle adjusts accordingly. As was said, in metric units the needle needs to read much higher on the scale, thus the wide range.

Speed test
Ran my 2012RT up to 100mph the other day, handling was perfect and no problem getting it up to speed, was on a new paved road, no wind, and a straight road, and no Red lights flashing in my rear view mirror, probably will not do that to often, but had to test it and see what it felt like and how it handled.

100 MPH..!!
this an easy thing to do on a roadster..have been up to 110 mph several times in some cases without noticing and being a bit shocked at my carelessness...!!

I have gone 100mph indicated on my RT-AC...just to see if I could.
-
They put that 200 there just so that folks who don't read the owner's manual can ask about it...
-
I've hit just above 100mph
-
I go fast enough to get to where I need to be on time... why hurry when it's a beautiful day?

Hit 110 mph on 2010 RTS with throttle left over. When people ask how fast it will go I just point to the 200 on the analog speedometer.

Let them be awed with their own ignorance;right?
I've only had one fellow counter with, "Yeah... is that miles, or kilometers per hour?"

You need to switch your gauge from kph to mph. There is no way you were going 100Mph in 4th gear and only turning 6,000rpms

If you are ready for pure nuts of steel! Watch this. Two guys on an RS I believe Germany.. You won't believe the speed... It's a fun watch.
