Our Spyders gauges change each time you start them...
We are on two 2012 RS 's (Semi-automatics) One time they will be on Total mileage, next time on Time, next time on something else. Is there any way to keep them on Time or do we just have to continue to keep punching M to what we want every time we start them?

1? Are you pushing or holding the mode button when starting? This may cause it to change

tap it once then start...otherwise you may have a cluster problem..!!

I believe its the mode button also as mine does it sometimes too. Always at start-up time.

You could be holding the MODE button too long, pushing it again, or one of them could be stuck (usually the one on the display).

Mr. Bones got my question...I guess I wasn't clear in my question for the rest of you

When we start the Spyders, without touching any buttons other than the starting of the Spyder, the gauge will always read different from the last time we started the Spyders and we have to manually press the mode button to whatever we want it to read which is the time. We know how to change it...we just wondered if there was some way for it to stay on i.e., TIME or whatever without it always on something different each time you start the Spyder.

My 2012 Spyder RSS does the same thing. Do you really think it is something that should go to the dealer?

No.
The left handle bar button that you use to reset the scrolling screen display before you can start the spyder, is also a "mode" button. When you press it to reset the screen it also will change the display. I don't know any way around this.
Just keep pressing that same button untill you get what you want on the disply, then start your spyder. You can use this button at any time to change the display (and it doesn't get stuck like the one on the dash).

THANK you so much. I had forgotten that mode button. Will see if this makes a difference. Of course, I never think to look at the gauges until after I have started the Spyder. This is probably something that was changed after the 2012 Spyders were built.
