Park My Spyder on the Grass ? Or Not ?
Is it a bad idea to park my Spyder on the Grass? I thought that it may start a fire from the hot exhaust so I don't do it now but I am tempted to since driveway space is a bit tight at my spyder-Crib. This might be a silly question...but as a new owner, I really don't know the answer!

highly doubt that it would start a fire unless it is in a corn stubble or hay field. (then i'm not so sure it would or could either) parking on the grass is fine if the wife lets you get away with it! otherwise, it could be detrimental to your health!

Fire
Tall dry grass could easily be ignited from the heat of the catalytic converter. Pick your grass.

LOL.........Is the fire in the background from a Spyder who parked in the grass?

I wouldn't worry about it, If you park in the same spot all the time, There won't be any grass left in that spot.
Not because of fire, But the residual heat and shade will eventually kill it....

Is that what your Tri-G does to the yard?

When I read the title of this thread, my reaction was uh oh.......someone got stuck in the grass. I thought we were gonna be talking about grassy shoulders, and I've had a few "learning experiences" about those , most of important of which is that the spyder ain't no mud buggy.
With the above said I'll just chime in with a caveat about pulling off on grassy shoulders. Beware of which it holds. You can really get into some trouble.
Chris
PS: The spyder doesn't have a whole helluva lot of power backing up grassy inclines.

But just leave a lawn chair on the grass in the same spot for a few days and see what happens....
Before it's stolen that is .....

Why not..!!
place some pavers or gravel in the spot you will be using for the spyder..? If you want to be safe run back and forth a few times to flatten tall dry grass then park with pegs over the flat part. If green grass less likely to burn...

If you keep the grass cut where you want to park it should not be an issue at all. Look at the pictures from Lamont's BBQ where he has over 100 Spyders on the grass hill at his place. With that being said, your wife may also prefer the paver stone idea.

the spyders do suck for getting out of slippery shoulders backwards but I have drove mine out grouse trails and shot grouse off it, you just shouldn't drive it were a car would not make it ( which is a hell of alot more places than people give them credit for)
you should be fine. if its terribly dry grass , 120 degrees and you just got done drag racing I would wait 5 minutes and then roll on it.
How tall is the grass? Taller than this?378031_10152848028250099_848523968_n.jpg

Try getting up Lamonts grassy hill while the dew is fresh. FUN

i would seriously get Harvey's spyderpops gravel guard installed if you decide to put gravel in area used to park..gravel and spyder belt not a good mix..

I do remember reading that-but...
I was thinking gravel to park on wouldn't be so bad- I probably would just roll Spydy onto the pad. Thanks for the reminder though !

You could always lay down a sheet of plywood or two.
