Whats more accurate.... Google Maps or Mapquest to Maggie Valley ????
Planning our trip to Maggie Valley in June and we are getting conflicting quickest routes and times from Mapquest and Google. Mapquest is telling me is 14 hours and Google is telling me 13 hours ????????
Both maps routes are are the same until you get in TN then Google tells me to get off I-81 at exit 57 and take interstate 26 into Ashville. Mapquest is telling me to remain on I-81 and get off at exit 1A to pick up I-40. Anybody know the best and quickest route of the two ?????? 10 miles and 1 hour difference between the two maps can't be right .......

Personally, I prefer Google. I've found it to be more accurate. Looking at both routes 26 to Asheville is the better route. Going to Knoxville is making you backtrack. Asheville to Maggie is around 50 miles and all interstate. I'm sure you'll get more opinions. See you there.

Google times are overly optimistic, in my opinion. Add a couple of hours for meals and fuel stops, too.

I always add extra time. Google also uses current traffic when mapping.

Randy.... 26 is the better route. I agree with Scotty that Google maps is overly optimistic on time. That is a good route since you are putting the Spyder on the truck but for the best mapping program on the Spyder go here..

BTW, you do know that you can drag and drop the google (or other) maps to change your route if they don't offer a matching option, don't you? The alotted times are different, but the routes can be made to coincide, even though each program picks its own, depending on the options selected.

Google without a doubt

Google route is better in my opinion for "time"...

Another thing to consider is that the time on all the map programs are calculated for cages not Spyders. We stop for gas a lot more than they do. Add to the stop the gawkers and questions and you lose a lot of time.

Google is currently the world leader in online mapping by far. No one has put more resources into mapping than Google.

I agree that Google is the way to go! Have used it for the past 3 years and it has been very accurate with routes and time estimates.
