14000 MIle Check Up
Just trying to see if people are doing the whole complete check, adjusting valves, replacing plugs, wheel bearings and the list goes on for this check up.

My spyder RT has about 24,000 miles and i haven't taken it in for its various check ups yet. Just regular oil changes and regular cleaning of the K&N air filter. I'll probably take it in sometime next year.

IMO: valve checks are not needed at 14,000 miles. I had mine done at 28,000 and they needed no adjustments. I do not drive my hard. I am a speed limit plus 5 kind of driver.
When you do the valve check/adjustment it will add about $600 labor to the bill.

On our first Spyder, a 2008 SE5, I rode it 43,000 miles and never had the valves checked or adjusted. When the tech checked him for resale they were all in spec. The 2010 RT SM5 has almost 33,000 miles and has never had the valves checked or adjusted. I know of one rider that was shown by my tech that his valves had never been checked after a dealer had done a service that required checking the valves. There are a couple of exterior things that MUST be removed and replaced to do the check and are hard to identify. For most of us riders, we will never know what a shop does on our Spyders when we bring them in for scheduled maintenance. I have used Royal Purple 10W40 Automotive Synthetic on both Spyders from the beginning after break-in and have NEVER had any oil issues.
2008 GS SE5 in 2008
Traded at 43,000 miles for a left over
2010 RT SM5 in 2011
Traded at 57,000 for a left over
2014 RTS SE6 in 2015, which has 35,000 miles
Oct 19th, 2017, totaled 2014 RT while killing a Javaline
Dec 12th, 2017 drove a 2017 F3L home. What an awesome machine!
Never had any breakdown stranded issues.

My 12,000 was done under the "old checklist". At 18,000, I took it in and they switched to the new checklist and caught up on all the things that were due at 14,000 now and anything else. I have a 3 year maintenance plan and it's more than paid for itself, if you want to keep all that stuff up to date per BRP. The valve check was done at 12,000 just to be sure it was recorded on the computer, even though it was a 6,000 insp in the old system. I still have 2 more big inspections at about 27,000 and 36,000 that will be covered and some bearings, etc at some odd mileage. Also, one or two oil changes. I will start my own oil changes around 40,000 and continue the 9400 or so mile inspections at the dealer. With lots of back/arthritis operations, etc, I am unable to do the major stuff myself. I have normally had the dealership do the major things, as I want to be sure another pair of eyes looks it over while it's "apart." Lots of different views on the mx requirements, and so far, at 75 years, I've only been stranded where I couldn't ride, one time - on my Road Glide 5 years ago when the stator caught fire. Luckily, It was local and not in the middle of nowhere, with the nearest shop 400 miles away.
