Nice for someone who likes the sport look, but would like some touring comforts. For full on touring I still like the RT!

I'll stick with my RT though.

Nice Vid Faran!
But Ho Hum BRP - its like Honda saying heres a VFR800 with Panniers a RVF750 race bike and heres a VFR-R with upide down forks a head down seating position but its still got paniers. Lost me at ST - wanted MORE!!
-
Uhm... Not sure how I feel... I like it though. Not going to run out and buy one until the warranty on my GS is gone in April 0f 2014...
That buys me some time to see what the 2013 and if I stretch it... the 2014 improvements are going to be. Maybe I'll get all the ST has with more motor by that time.
-
Eh..... I'm not so sure I like it. I like the conceptual idea, but not what I saw in the video. I need to see it in person. I'll stick with my GS.
-
Looks like the ST is a "farkled out" RS. I do like though! That electronic cruise control would be nice. And it even comes on the rss now

I had mixed feelings about the announcement. If it dazzled me, then would I be unsatisfied with my RT? Well, it looks like a great bike, but more of an improvement to the RS than it is to the RT. It's a nice compromise, but it doesn't seem to go anywhere new and personally I prefer my RT, especially when I have a passenger.
I hope it does well for them, and I also hope they've fixed some of the technical issues with the current models in this new incarnation.

Not the best of the RS and RT
I was ready to replace my 2011 RS SM5 with a new sport tourer model asap. I am sorry, but to me they have taken the worst of the RT and the RS and combined them into the ST. This is just my opinion!
My wife and I went and sat on a 2012 RT this past week for the 2nd time and I just do not care for the riding position of the RT. It makes me feel like I am getting on a Goldwing and at 52 I am way to young for that. I like charging the corners and enjoying the backroad curves. I don't want the position of a sport bike but the RT reminds me of the Godzillas and the guys that cruise the interstates. I look for the roads less traveled with lots of curves. I really like the riding position of my RS even after a 2000 mile ride. Next, the video looks like the Spyder just has BRP (Givi) bags. Already have that on my RS and while they are great, I thought they would have come up with a RS model that had the storage and passenger comfort of an RT. As far as the floor boards go, some love em but I love motorcycles and want to feel like I am on a motorcycle and have foot pegs. Wind protection, the standard RS is fine with me. I added the GIVI windscreen and that provides all I need.
I guess BRP and I have different ideas and I wish them the best at sales. Oh well, wish they had done things different.
Here is my ST that I was ready to buy:
RS riding position
Nice passenger comfort like the RT (large comfortable backrest with sound controls)
Storage like the RT
Foot pegs like the RS
Cruise Control and ipod dock
++++++++ TOW HITCH ++++++ I really would like to tow with the BRP hitch while retaining my BRP bags
Don't beat me up to bad for my comments. Just trying to sell more Spyders!

Kind of way too much hype, for a somewhat mediocre new model (ST).
Unless I see one up close and have a real change of heart will
Just keep truckin' with my '08 gs

Don't forget about us little guys now that you've hit the big time Steve.
