    Default Throttle Body Recall

Has anyone out there heard anything about a recall on 2011 Spyders? I recieved a call yesterday from Can-Am asking a bunch of questions about my bike. Just a marketing thing but in closing he informed me that ther was a recall on my 2011 RT involving the throttle body. Is this a next time I am in town thing or go strieght to see the dealer thing?

    Default Recall

Lamont posted this 2012-4 updated throttle body actuator protection B earlier. Take it to your dealer.

There is a recall 2012-4 to reset the software for the Throttle Body - Even if you did the update prior to last month as they made a SECOND change.

So what is the difference in causation between the issues that some 2010s are having with "P1614" errors, and what happens with the 2011s?

Good question. My throttle body (actually throttle position senson) crapped out in MT last summer.

    Default 2011 RT Recall 2012-4

Went to Dealer yesterday to have this update done to the Spyder. Now I have the "Check Engine" icon flashing on the display. Called Dealer service manager and he said "Let me call BRP and find out what they say". Have 6000 miles on unit and everything was ok until yesterday. Now we have the check engine icon problem. I must have been way to anxious to get recall done. Waiting to hear back from dealer.

    Default Throttle Body Recall

I called my dealer this morning and he said this recall was only for 2012 RT models. Is he correct?

Sorry... After re-reading your answer I'm guessing that my 2010 is having a mechanical issue, while the later models have a software thing going on...

Please note that this is not a recall, it is a Warranty Campaign. If you send your dealer searching for a recall, he may come up empty.
