I echo all of the above comments. Had my spyder one week and put over 400 miles on it all along the way talking to at least 25 people about the bike and how to get one. One thing I DO PROMOTE is this WEBSITE. A big thanks to LAMONSTER and all his hard work providing a place for all of us to learn and exchange information and ideas. My statement is this..."if ya really wanna learn about this bike and all the in and outs of it...sign up on SpyderLovers.com and you will get all the info you ever need". When they take a second look at me I reassure them its not a PORN site....not that kind of LOVERs. hahahahah

Here's my idea. This is a ruff idea how it would work but you'll get the jest of it. When you buy a Spyder you get some cards with a place to put your name as a owner on it and maybe part of your VIN number. These cards could be used to hand out to potential Spyder buyers.
I agree with ataDude. Could be easier on BRP if it was just a download that we could print out ourselves...

This would motivate you to promote the product and you would get a reward for doing so. I know I've sold quite a few Spyders since I got mine and it would be nice if I got a little something for my time. Who's a better salesman than the end user?
So what do you guys think? Is this a win-win-win?
I don't see how BRP could lose. Considering the effort they went to and the appreciation they showed during the Valcourt Homecoming (really, now--has anyone had a company treat them that well for buying their product??!), it fits with that customer appreciation AND it could keep a bit of the enthusiasm going for us until the next homecoming ride!

I agree. This makes good sense. Also, making this come from BRP instead of a certain dealer just makes it that much better, as long as they can administer the program in a timely manner. Then we can "sell" Spyders anywhere in the U.S., Canada, or wherever and get our Spyder Bucks to spend at any dealership instead of being locked into a program that is only good at our local dealer.

BRP provided owners with a pack of DVD's to hand out to interested potential customers. I'm all for the "card" idea. It would work better if we also had additional DVD's to give with the card ! A picture is worth 1000 words.

I think this is a great idea! I for one would much more want to spend the time playing "20 questions" if BRP would reward my salesmanship for their product.

I think it's a great idea....in fact if BRP does not do it I am going to tell everyone NOT to get a Spyder and I hate mine!! J/k just thought BRP could use some incentive.

Ahhhh, you must mean "arachnid allowance", right?

I WOULDN'T MIND IT. I BET I PASSED OUT ABOUT 40 BUSINESS CARDS FROM THE DEALER. I TOLD THE GUY IF HE SELLS ANY THAT I WAN'T FREE MAINTANCE OR SOMETHING. DOUT THAT WILL EVER HAPPEN. BUT THIS PROGRAM WOULD BE NICE.

Sounds great! It does not take much prompting to get me to answer all the questions of the people standing around the Spyder everytime I come back out to the parking lot. I would welcome some BRP thanks. I will need a trunkful of cards.

I think its awesome idea. But how about this one. If You didn't know I sale other BRP products other then SPYDER. I had mine sitting in showroom Figured great way to help promote them> Long story short my BRP rep was giving me fits about it. Now when someone was interested I gave them the card of a Spyder dealer.. You would think my rep would have thanked me.. I still park it out front cuz I want them to sell forever. But he gave me a hard time so getting them to give us bucks might be hard. I hope not cuz it is great Idea

Think of it this way .... that stupid useless owner's card with unique owner number should be good for something. Maybe they can actually put that to a good use for once.

Good ideas all the way around, but I doubt you'll see anything from BRP on a national scale. My main reason I think this is because BRP has already sold far more Spyders (100% more in the first year) than they expected to.
Local dealers are the ones that will jump on a program like this. Maybe as the hype has slowed a bit this will drive BRP to push more programs, but up until now it's kind of been just a matter of what dealer can get you a Spyder the quickest. Now that dealers have actual stock they can sell, perhaps incentives like this will become popular.
I know my local HD dealer gives a $100 gift card to anyone that sends someone to them who actually buys a bike. This is totally on them - on a local level. Not sure if HD does anything like that nationwide.
I too could have sold many Spyders..... and spend quite a bit of time telling all about them. Most of the time its fun - sometimes when I'm running late and just trying to get gas it's a pain.

Our dealer gave us business cards - all we gave to do is put discount on back and they will credit us and give a gift card to use at dealership as well as discount on all extras. Love the idea of Spyderbucs though.

Adding a number to identify myself to BRP to rack up some SpyderSwag points or discounts would be easy.
Super...
