This is the size air craft that our club has been getting into in the last 10 years. The techolgy availble now is amazing, especially the electronics. I am not active in the club anymore due to health but I built many of the large scale planes up that time. New light wieght power plants make 40% and larger 3D aircraft possible (200 cc or more). This pilot is exceptional

Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!

Kevin (Spyder Guru) at Cowtown plays with these types of planes and I emailed Dan at cowtown to let Kevin take a look at this guys fun with his plane. I think Kevin would be able to keep up with all the tech of this type of plane.

Oh, the memories of rubber band escapments, short range transmitters, and watching a 7 foot model of a J-3 Cub with a Forester 99 disappear over the horizon when it lost the signal. Of course, I couldn't fly it like this guy, and it couldn't fly like that plane, but that was 54 years ago.
