GA Spyder Chapter
Okay, lets get this going. First of all, who is in? I don't feel like we need a formal heirachy until we get enough people that meet up on a consistant basis. Then we can get organized. Maybe we can have one person suggest places to meet, then we all chime in. I have some web hosting so I can put us a page up, nothing fancy, but still come here for postings, so that other GA riders can see. Guess we should come up with a name. Do we want it to tie into the state, like Peach Ryders or something like that. We also need to come up with the 10 locations for the SypderWebUSA. Amicalola Falls ( http://amicalolafalls.com/ ) should be on there, i think. Lets do this!!!

Just read Lamont's SpyderWeb USA post (http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=29121 ) & figured out what you meant by selecting 10 locations.
I'm inclined to think that Spyder dealerships in Georgia might be a good starting point. We could all really benefit by bringing them into the mix. If they thrive, we are all better by it.
There are also state parks, covered bridges, favorite BBQ restaurants, roads, best hamburgers (love Five Guys!), war memorials, Blue Willow Inn in Social Circle, Smith House in Dahlonega, Dillard House in Dillard, TWO in Suches (Two Wheels Only), etc.

I'm In...
Let's make this happen. I agree with Mark on the State Parks, places to eat (oh yeah), Tybee Island Light Station, Brasstown Bald, maybe convince the folks at Suches that TWO (Two Wheels Only) can also mean Three Wheels Optional and Andersonville Nat'l Historic Site. There have to be some sights in the bottom half of this state too.
Maybe Georgia pRYDE.

Reason: adding Andersonville Nat'l Historic Site

GA ryde suggestions
I think on 7/4/2012 or that weekend, I trip to a Revolutionary War Battlefield (possibly Savannah/Tybee Island or Kings Mountain National Military Park in SC) would be perfect. On that same line, a suggestion for a ride for Veterans Day ... a trip to Andersonville for the National Cemetry and the POW Museum.) There are Scottish festivals in Blairsville (June usually, I think) and the Renaissance Faire (april- June) near Peachtree City/Fairburn.
Let's go!!!!!!!!
-
We're in, where/when????
Dahlonega(spelling close enough?) is beautiful and a gazillion ways to get there and back. Tybee Island/ Savannah could work? Only dates not good for us r 9/22-9/25 and 10/21-10/25. How about t.w.o.(three wheels only). If the Presidency pays 100K, buys me a new Spyder every 3 months and flies us to meetings, my hats in the race..... if not, let's meet for coffee Y'all. Namaste.

Would like to meet more Spyder riders, especially near Augusta.

But Georgia's Dragon is still there and should probably be in the top ten of Georgia's segment of Spyderweb USA.

Augusta works for me. Give us a place (with address) and a date and time (Saturday please) & maybe we can put together a Spyder meet.

Count me (09 RS Moon Silver) and my son (09 RS Red) in as well. The Augusta area has a lot of good camping areas out by the Lake with over 1,100 miles of shoreline. Also Fort Mac Alister down on the coast near Hinesville is the best preserved Civil War earthen Star Fort in the South.

Count me in!

Hawk, Mark, Keith, et al:
Sounds like you are getting things off to a good start in Georgia.
We don't want to make anyone unhappy and we enjoy the socializing but neither of us have ever felt real comfortable riding in group. That goes back to the days when we were charter members in the GWRRA back in the late 70's and we actually dreaded the group rides.
So, we will pass on the group stuff but we'll follow the posts and may well end up meeting you all someday in Dahlonega, Blue Ridge, Highlands or some other neat destination. We'll just get there our own way in our own time.
Keep us posted.
Penny and Rick have owned many motorcycles starting in 1974 with Honda’s, then to Suzukis, Gold Wings and ultimately Spyders.

You can still be a member. Heck you can come to the meet ups. You don't have to come on the rides that we organize. Either way its up to you. Right now we are just getting this somewhat organized.
BTW,
Here are the suggested names so far:
Peach Ryders
TWO (Three Wheels Only)
TWOG (Georgia at the end)
Georgia Pryde
Keep em coming. No hurry, maybe we shelve voting on them until we get around 20 members or so.

Love to see all of the responses and cannot wait to get together for a ride. Blue Willow sound like a fabulous place to meet up and I hear the food is awesome. I really like the bbq idea also!!

Mike, Mark;
:dunno: A Meet and Eat (lunch?) at the Blue Willow Inn in Social Circle? Might pull the Augustans in as well as Kathleen and Marietta folks. If that sounds plausible, lets pick a Saturday in first half of Sept. If this works for folks, I will contact/coord with BWI.

I'm on the first long road trip the week of Labor Day, so it would have to be after that for me. Think we are going up the east coast, trying to make it to Philly or Atlantic City, stopping along the way of course.
