BRP will be sending them the new units, and they will not have to worry about them sitting on a shelf and not being used. They should not hold your machine hostage, unless they know they will have a new unit in the next day or two, and let you go on about your life. You should be able to schedule this replacement when it is convenient for you, and the dealer has the new part in stock.
That's exactly what my local dealer told me....I don't get it and will not have my bike sitting in a shop for 2+ weeks. I need to find a better dealer in the MD/VA/DC area.

BRP reimburses 1.7 hrs for an RS, and 2.0 hours for an RT.

While greasing the right side suspension the DPS was sitting right there in front of me. Does Not look that confusing OR hard to get at?

Same info I got from warranty dealer...that it would be an overnight job...since I have 4 hrs. travel 1 way asked who was springing for the motel..they just smiled. Why would it take overnight when it is a 2 hr. job (I have RT)? Also they told me that BRP sends them 2...then they have to send those replaced back and then they will get 2 more...weird, huh??? Guess BRP has reallllly good lawyers...can you imagine the lawsuit if someone is hurt as they play the "replacement game"...go figure huh!!! Let's hope their reasoning is sound...not for me to lose any sleep over..but does make me wonder what they are thinkin'????

Got my letter today, dated the 7th, now all I have to do is find somebody who is still a dealer. Probably won't happen till after the BBQ.

I will be waiting until next year. My dealer has the replacement DPS in stock, but agrees with me about BRP's track record. Especially when software downloads are involved. I will wait until it has been a proven fix since I have no issues with the steering at present..

Got my letter today as well. Called dealer and we agreed to wait for a month or so when I take the Spyder in for the 12,000 mile check.

    Oh yea...passed 10,000 yesterday

My understanding was that there are no dealer software downloads with this (unless you never had the first recall done). The firmware is already loaded into the new DPS.
