Better write it down, 'cuz I'm gonna ask you again in about 15 years. You don't have as far back to remember as some of us do.

12" ruler across the fingers if you weren't paying attention!
Our 7th grade Nun had the double threat, 1-pointing stick across the back, 2-brass 18 inch ruler across the knuckles. I now write with my right hand, I was a lefty.

it was 45 years ago that's long enough.

Just because you're "older than dirt and water" is not my fault.

It doesn't matter, it's not the age...it's the mileage, anyway. In that case, we had better both watch out.

Don't worry about me asking in 15 years...I won't remember that, either!

Woods Christian, Bowness, Alberta, 1948. Teacher was an Englishwoman, Miss Edmonston. She claimed Canadian kids were ill-behaved compared to English children, and sought to correct that with her yardstick. Had her for 3 years and was happy to see grade 4.

It was a one room school house out in the country, Little House on the Prairie style. Around the 3rd or 4th grade they destroyed it and built a two roomer.
