When Dogwoods bloom.... their pollen covers everything, including my Spyder!!
When Dogwoods bloom in the South several things can be done as part of the Springtime ritual:
We can bring out the garden hose(es), and remove the foam covers from the outdoor faucets;
It's time to get serious about the number of dangerous decking boards that need replacing;
It's time to post the calendar for this year's riding trips (so I can plan Dr appointments around riding);
And living in a log house, surrounded by trees, this is the time for all new growth to begin...We made it through another season!
But, it's also time for Mother Nature to paint everything with yellow pollen and my Spyder is no exception....even walking onto the back porch leaves footprints!
My 2020 Petrol Blue RT will wait for another week or so to get her Springtime annual deep-cleaning bath, for to bathe her now would be futile...she would get another bath overnight of the yellow stuff.

Here, it is the Live Oak Trees. They are dropping the powered horrible yellow pollen, and the little yellow/green wormy looking things that I call "Tree Snot". I have to use the leaf blower every day 'cause if it rains - which it probably won't - the porous stone soaks up the yellow color and it's a bear to get off. The wife and I were sitting outside tonight, and she went into the kitchen to get a long-handled teaspoon to fish the crap out of her wine glass. Life is hard.

Not as much as one would think. Rain/rinse-wash maybe, then just looks like vehicle had to pee! (yellow runoff!) Varies per areas & if I want to park in the shade risking tree sap globs that will crystallize somewhere.

Uhhh, yeah........ it is part of the birds and bees thing. Without pollen the trees could not reproduce, and neither could your food that you expect to be in the grocery store.

yep. And when Fall comes, I allow the leaves to make new dirt...my contribution to being green.

A little, but pollen blows/swirls under the cover, and cleaning the cover is interesting. I wasn't complaining when I posted the original post here. It's part of springtime and a nuisance, but a necessary part of this season. I'd love to have a tightly-closed, climatized proper garage, but the carport allows the side-by-side access to the rest of the property.
Interestingly, my original title was "When Dogwoods bloom". But somehow the title got changed, making it sound more like complaining, which was not my intent.

My spyders stay in the garage, but they still get covered just from the going in and out daily to get to my office upstairs. I still love it a lot better than I did about 10 years ago when I was doing the car show scene almost every weekend. Getting out there with a california duster got old after a while. Using a good spray on cleaner like F11 worked wonders. The pollen just slides off so much easier. I will probably be washing my bikes in the next couple of weeks, and putting the shorter summer shields on.

I am one who loves blooming Dogwood trees in the early Spring.
However, they are in the back of my house and down the road in other neighbor's yards. I do park my car outdoors, but, have been lucky with no pollen on mine. The other vehicles are in the garage.

Around here, the biggest source of the visible pollen is the pine trees. That stuff is terrible.

We have been getting light pollen mist for a while now but the rain keeps it beat down. Give it a few weeks and you will be able to see the tire tracks in the yellow/green streets.
