Buzzing When Braking
Hey all,
Season's greeting!
I have a 2011 RT-S and recently noticed kind of a faint "buzzing" sound when braking. All brake pads are new, replaced about 2 months ago. Now, I'm not sure if it was there from before or not...
Any ideas what that is?
Thanks!

Did you do the work yourself? What did you get for parts, OEM, aftermarket? You have to tell us more!

My guess would be the faint buzz I hear from the abs system when I brake. I think for me it has allways been there, so I don't pay mutch attention to it anymore and the bike is acting as it should with no fault codes.
Merry Xmas !

The brake discs have holes in them. My guess is the noise is the new pads as they pass over these holes. Pretty much all of my bikes with drilled discs do it to a degree. If that's the case and I believe it is it is harmless.

For comparison, our oem brakes were absolutely quiet.
When replaced, I installed EBC brake pads. Ever since, there is a whurring / buzzing sound on brake application.
Even though I beveled the edges of the new brake pads before installing, I suspect the EBC brake pads generate the noise as the pass the oem brake disc cutouts.
