Has anybody installed the OEM adjustable wind deflectors on 2020+ RTL?
I know the Baker Airwings are better.
I'd like to focus on the OEM, or rather the OEM style adjustable wind deflectors, similar to what is offered on the S2S model.
They are available on Amazon for about $100 for a complete set, upper and lower.
They seem pretty small. I'm just wondering if replacing them would have any effect on the air stream at all.
As I said, I know the Baker ones would be better, I'm just trying to get an idea of the effectiveness of the OEM style adjustable deflectors.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Steve, I had them on my 2013 RTL and liked them a lot. $100 is way less than I paid for mine. I think you would like them.

I had the dealer install the OEM's on my 2021 RTL. It does make a little difference but not much... to me anyway.
But, having been used to the Baker Air Wings on other touring bikes I rode, there is just no comparison as to the amount of wind moved toward you or away from you for personal adjustable comfort.
I just did not like the look of the Bakers on the Spyder vs. the look of the OEM's.

I installed both the upper and lower on my 2022 RT. I think I get more benefit from the upper set than the lower set. As Pooch mentioned, they do make a little difference. $100 is about half price for the two sets... BPR online list them as $129 per set.

Thanks Dwight. I agree with you wholeheartedly, but the 2020+ design is different.
The wind deflectors are smaller than the ones on your bike.
Here's what I'm looking at:

I installed these on my 21 RTL, to me it is the best mod for the money. Chris

I just installed them on my 2020 RTL.
Not bad, but they are definitely the "value brand".
They are 50% the price of OEM, and probably 70% of the quality, so it's a good bargain, but still lower quality.
Only time will tell how well they hold up.
In the meantime, I'm still keeping the OEM parts. Just in case........

So what is gained with installing these adjustable deflectors? Is it more air flow for hotter weather, or do they also provide less wind for colder weather over the stock stationary ones?

Both, depending if you have them open or closed. Open flows more air onto you. Closed makes the air flow more outside your seating space. If it's cold, close them. If it's hot, open them.

So I would assume the upper ones are for your upper body and lower for the leg feet area ?

I have both uppers and lowers, I love the lower ones but the upper ones not so much they cause some buffeting . I am only 5'6" so that may have someting to do with the buffeting.

I had them installed before delivery. A bit of a let-down compared to Bakers, but the uppers are somewhat effective. I'd hate to consider summer riding without something there. The lowers do funnel rain onto you, but I have not felt much air from them.

Do it! Without them, I found that there was almost no airflow. The OEM "wings" deflected all of the air away from me; this made for an extremely hot ride.
I purchased the OEM adjustable "wings" within a week of purchasing my '21 RT-L. Where there isn't a huge amount of wind coming at me, there is at least some coming now.
Closing them when it's cold or raining helps too.
Good luck

I don't have the OEM ones. I bought mine on Amazon but they're the same exact ones as the OEM but much cheaper. I love them. More air flow in the summer and can damper down in the colder weather.

I recently installed the Bakers and did feel the difference. Will admit, not a big fan on the looks, but they do help. I live outside of Death Valley, and it does get hot, so anyone running both OEM and Bakers?

We installed the adjustable OEM units when they became available on our 2020RT's, they do make a difference.

I tried using them open and closed many times on a recent 6 hour ride, tntnj, and found no extra buffeting from the uppers when closed or open. It may indeed be due to rider height as you suspected, as I am 13” taller than you
