My "quick fix for "check engine" light
My “quick fix” for a flashing “check engine” light
After 7 years and 77,000 miles I thought I knew “Trixy” my 2013 ST Limited.
But that isn’t always the case with an electronic personality such as Nanny.
Recently each time I started and traveled with Trixy I got a flashing or constant
Check engine light. In the past these would go away after a few starts.
But not recently. I called my friendly mechanic who said that without the
software he couldn’t help. That meant a trip to the dealer 35 miles away.
Should I ride it or tow it? How would I get home if repair was necessary?
With Sunday football in mind, I hopped on Trixy for a short hop for half time
junk food. As I got to the store, for some reason I don’t understand, I took
the key with me into the store. When I returned to head home, I put the key
in Trixy, started her and NO CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I stopped and started
three times and no check engine light. I laughed to myself all the way home.
I never take the key out of Trixy. I live in an elderly condo complex with
underground parking and mostly older women as neighbors so never felt it
necessary. Also when parking away from home, I always felt that only
other Spyder owners could start the Spyder. But never too old to learn,
I now will take the key out every time I leave it.
I hope my “quick fix” will help someone else.

Well that was an easy fix.

Wonderful Spyder
.... Well another fine story with a great ending.
Remember to always remove your Spyder key and keep it in the house. Just a little piece of mind too.
Cell phones are sometimes funny. I had
always turned off my cell phone while charging. Yesterday I didn't and my phone was not working. I turned it off and then on. Bingo the cell phone is working fine. Just a thought for you and your phone.
Stay Healthy. ....
