Default Which FOBO Bike 2 app do I want?

I was thinking of getting the FOBO Bike 2 TPMS for my 2018 RT. I went to the Google Play store to look at the app and there are like 7 or more FOBO apps listed. Anyone know which app I need to download?

I have the original and it works very well. I've been told, for what it's worth. not to load any of their updates. They create complications. If you get the 1 or 2 and it works fine stick with it and don't update it'

Greg, I’m sure Lamonster told you this, but the app you want is FOBO Bike 2. It will let you have up to 4 sensors.

Lucky, lucky you. Unfortunate, not all of us were as fortunate as you. Possibly I/we had glitches that occurred for some unknown reasons during our updates. But, all in all, I really like my FOBOs. I had a flat on my HD one day and it ended up being a very unhappy day. All that could have been averted had I known earlier that I was experiencing a slow leak.

Yeah, I’m certainly not saying it doesn’t happen, 2dogs…..I have seen too many reports. It has just never happened to either me or the 2 mates I know of who run FOBO. Maybe it’s because we operate it upside down

I think you are on to something there Pete. If I ever have to update again I'm going to turn my cell phone upside down and see if it loads that way on the first try.

When you say 4 sensors. Where would you add the extra sensor if you buy one? To the valve under the seat?

You would choose the Trike + AirShock option when you set it up and then it would show:

Yes, you got it in one, Eranical I used that setup to great effect on my ‘16 F3-L that had the manually adjustable air bag. I don’t use it on my ‘21RT-L as it is auto, but it may still come in handy to diagnose any issues I have with the bag

For me on my 2021 RTL it was as simple as screwing it onto the valve stem, practically like putting a normal valve cap on. The hardest part for this old man was getting up off the floor afterwards.

Greg, I’m hoping that this question is not considered “hijacking your thread”. Once the FOBO II is installed, and the unit doing what it is supposed to, approximately how long before the batteries in each unit should be replaced. I know that it is no biggie, but I’d hate to be on an extended road trip and have dead batteries. Thoughts?

The FOBO literature says approximately 1 year, mine are around nine months old and still going strong. They use CR 1632 batteries that are widely available. Probably available at any Wally World and Walgreens etc. plus the app itself shows the battery charge of each unit as well as the air pressure of each tire.
Screen shot of my actual unit (not sure why a screen shot is so dark?)

I agree on the FOBO app, however my unit is 6 - 8 months old and the rear battery shows 2 weeks since update and still shows 2 volts. I replaced it, and it is now solid green and 2.4 volts. I take it that after 2 weeks with no update, that it was dead. Normally updates every couple minutes. This was on the original batteries, and who knows how old they were.

Brucie, I always carry a spare pack (4) batteries with me, just in case. I have seen the battery status go to red even after a few weeks, and I change them over……..but I have to say that I did not change a battery that was showing as red for 2 months, as I wanted to see what happened. It just continued to work as normal, so I’m not sure FOBO’s onboard “assessment” is particularly reliable.
