Wishing Lamont the very, very best in his recovery.
Just as an aside. One of my daughters, a couple years ago, got part of her sister's liver, live liver donor. With siblings the chance of rejection were supposed to be less likely. The liver must not have gotten the message. It rejected twice in the first year. She was warned ahead time the first year would be the toughest. In any case, it seems to have been smooth sailing since. She is now a nurse and a transplant coordinator at a hospital.

Joan has posted that the transplant took place and Lamont is recovering well in ICU. The are a couple of “technical difficulties” as you would expect from an operation of this magnitude, but the doctors are very happy with his progress.

Per Lamont:
"I got to see my scar for the first time today and no wonder I’m hurting. This thing is huge. To knarly to post in public.
I got some good deep sleep for a few hours and my kidneys are working very well but the other end not so good (tmi). I just did my lung exercises as that seems to be the only thing I’m really struggling with. I don’t want pneumonia or a collapsed lung. A guy coded just now and that woke me up. I must say that most of the liver transplant patients have been here for two weeks or more and not all of them are doing near as well as I am. I contribute that directly to your prayers and God‘s intervention.
We had a good prayer time with the chaplain on this floor and it was very encouraging for both of us. He is a pastor from Nigeria doing Gods work here in St. Louis.
I would ask that you would not tag my wife in this post as it’s blowing up her phone and she really needs her rest. We feel all your support and prayers and thank you from the bottom of our heart ❤️ Love you guys"
