I currently have a Blue Ridge windscreen on my 2017 F3 and have been looking for an alternative. The current standard windscreen allows exposure of my full helmet to the wind blast creating lots of noise and making use of an in helmet microphone impossible. Now that Gustafsson Plastics is making products for Can Am motorcycles, I was considering replacing the standard screen with a taller one. Using Gustafsson's procedure for measuring screen height, which is to measure from the gas door to the top of the screen, the standard screen measures 13". If I select the 20" screen, by my calculation, I would still be able to look over it. Hopefully, this would create a pocket of quiet air more conducive to a microphone by virtue of reduced noise. I am also assuming that the additional height would not create a problem of wind force damaging the screen since it attaches using the existing hardware. Anyone have first hand knowledge of this product and would care to comment on my idea? Thanks.

There comes a time in life when you really want to stay in the wind, but single-track vehicles are no longer a practical or safe solution. The Can AM Spyder is a wonderful answer to a difficult situation.
Ours is a red, black and chrome 2017 F3 Limited. Bought new in 2/2019. The avatar is my first bike back in 1952, a Simplex Servi-Cycle. Photo taken at the Barber Museum.
What is the "flip"? I see no reference to that on the order form.

I suggest you not buy from anyone who does not offer the flip. It's a reverse curve at the top of the windshield that directs air up much higher and makes it as if it was a taller w/s. It also shoot rain up and not over the w/s. Try 7Jurock - very reasonable and they offer a flip.

i had a GUSTOFSSON on my 1st F3, and can't say anything negative about it, other than PRICE.... i'm all for the 7Jurock @ $150 USD.... WOW...! ! ! how sweet it is...

It's hard not to think about the 7Jurock for half the price of the Gustafsson. I wonder what the additional money buys you? Is it a question of quality, customer service, fitment or what? Has anyone out there ever ordered and installed one of these for their F3?

If you are asking about Gustafson, their pricing scares me away, especially when I have had many years of good experiences with 7Jurock at half the cost.

I think that is the answer I was looking for in part; You have supplied a solid endorsement of the 7jurock screen and a good reason to purchase one.... good pricing and experience. Many thanks for sharing this with me. I will probably order one tomorrow but am still puzzled by the price difference of the two seemingly similar products. Oh well, we are all in the business of saving money.

Would y'all recommend this over a F4 windshield. I'm 6' and the blue ridge will definitely not be enough for me. So it's either the F4 32 coming in at $570 before tax or 27 for $170 from 7jurock. I mean sounds like a no brainer but just wondering.

While I hardily agree that 7Jurock is a GREAT windscreen, I disagree that a non flip windscreen should be discounted. I had a 7Jurock on my 2018 RT and loved it. I currently have an F4 on my 2021 RT and love that, too. The F4 isn't offered with a flip.
I think F4 justifies his price with thicker material and a coating so hard, it can withstand a scrubbing with steel wool. Considering that I have never had a problem of any sort with 7Jurock and they are far from being flimsy, I have better things to do with my money than overspend on a windshield I would never take steel wool to a windshield anyway.
7Jurock really won me over when they worked very closely with me in making a custom w/s to my specifications.

Gustafsson does offer a recurve on there shields, even though it isn't advertised on there web site yet. Also I think f4 custom also offers one, I know they do for the Ryker. Also you might consider a MadStad windshield they are quite adjustable up and down and front to back. They are very popular.
Did you have to buy a mounting kit for 7jurock window or did it fit to the factory mount?
It utilizes the factory mount, thank goodness. The one that's wider than the brackets simply use a 1/4" spacer between the w/s and the bracket - at the screws, of course. I did get 4 slightly longer screws to accommodate for the spacers.

Put an Xcreen deflector on top of that Blue Ridge windshield and it will get rid of the buffeting. Worked for me!

Monk, check out Slingmods windshields for Ryker and also F4 Customs web site for the can am Ryker. Not sure if they offer it for the other Can Am's, but don't know why they couldn't.

I stand corrected. I've only owned RTs and they don't offer the recurve for those. My apologies.
Hello Ricz, You purchased longer screws to complete the installation? My concern was that the stock screws might be too short if the windshield is any thicker than the stock shield. It would seem that if this is the case, then the vendor would supply them or at least provide a source for them. Also, I thought that based upon the diagram on the vendor's website that the predrilled holes would line up with the new shield? Am I mistaken? Thanks again for your help. My shield has been shipped.

Since I had to add 1/4" spacers under the windshield, I assumed I needed longer screws. It turned out that I didn't, but I bought a set (thanks Ace Hardware) after ordering the w/s, so I used them.
Re the holes; They were a little too short - maybe by 1/4" or so - so I connected one side, leaving the screws a bit loose and I pressed down on the plastic to spread it and inserted the other screws. Sometime after that, I needed to remove the w/s and it had taken a set to the correct spacing!
It didn't bother me that I bought the screws, when the w/s cost only $160 shipped. Now if it cost twice that, as many others do, I would expect they be supplied. I am pleased that I got to use the stock chrome brackets and not have to use additional black ones.

F4 Customs offers a great windshield for the Ryker with a recurve in both clear and tint. We currently offer a 16" shield and soon will have the 13" shield also. This comes with all of the mounting hardware ready to mount. You can give us a call at 941.347-7496. Check our the video done by Knight Ryker
.
I have emailed twice to F4 customs with no return yet. I am interested in the smaller windshield, but I thought it was a 12". That's what it says on there website and also slingmods website not that is big difference. Must be they have changed sizes for some reason. Would like to know when soon is. This is for my wife's Ryker, she is only 5'3" so the 16" is to tall for her to look over. Hopefully the 12 or 13" which will be perfect. I have also looked at the Madstad 18". I may have to try that first since they have a return policy and F4 does not.

Madstad 14" not too tall, yet it adjusts a bit up/down/forward/back. Only pix with ebay deflector..

We are in production now on the shorter shield and we went with this size after more testing. I expect 2-3 weeks at max for delivery.
