Looking for some suggestions on a possible fix for my RS
I have a 2012 RS with 52,000 miles. Have had a issue with the Start Button the last few rides in requiring more than one attempt to start engine.
Yesterday headed out for a ride and had the Check Engine message light turn on twice. Pulled key restarted bike and code disappeared. Brought the bike back home with concerns because of the message problem and the start problem.
When I tried to start again after bringing home I had the following messages on the screen. ABS/VSS and indicator light for an EBD fault or Brake Failure. I also now have a click whenever I try to start the bike.
I did check Brake Fluid and did look okay but did top off just a tad. Trying to narrow down the problem if fixable here at home.
Any Suggestions are appreciated.

3 possibilities come to mind right away. #1 Battery is going bad. How old is it? Charge3 it up and have it load tested. #2 connecting wires are a little loose. Go to hardware store get a couple of inside star washers put them on the screws and tighten down.#3 Your starter switch is wearing out or dirty. Spray some contact cleaner in there or brake cleaner. Both leave no residue when they dry. Or replace. There may be other reasons/solutions but this will give you a place to start.

This thread is from a Harley Davidson Sportster forum but the voltage numbers are applicable for the Can-Am 12-volt system:

Good to see another 2012 RS out there, and with a lot more miles on it than mine (~19,400). :-)

Not just static battery voltage, but is it charging through good cables and connections.
