Changing Seasons
WOW - this Fall seasons colors are amazing ( Mid- Vermont area, 05660 ) and we have had only a little rain lately ( it brings the leaves down quickly ) and no real wind to speak off ….. I have a 32-35 mi. , that I drive frequently ( to clear my head ) and the views are spectacular.... lately the weather after 12 noon till about 4-5 has been un-usually mild ( 60 to 65 F ) so the twistie's and sights are top notch …… a few more good days are predicted ….. You guys are lucky. We've had a VERY wet summer and fall, so the leaves here are still mainly green with very little color. It's also been mild so not much is turning color. Gonna be down to 25* tonight after being so mild for so long and late into Sept and Oct. Lots of rain and wind and now a quick cold snap is likely gonna bring down most of the leaves before they turn colors. We have a group color ride planned for two weeks from now. I'm guessing the trees will be bare by then.......RATS!!!!

Today was the first cool day of fall, with a temperature around 45° and a little bit of rain off and on. Supposed to get down to 31° tonight. The leaves have very little color other than green. Still looks like summer for the most part.
The bad part is that I had surgery on my right elbow just over three weeks ago and that means no riding! Going to PT and doing my exercises at home religiously, but I'm afraid that the weather will turn before I can ride again.
The good part is I'm able to move my arm with a much greater range of motion now and can even shave (what little I do shave around the edges of my beard) with my right hand. Doesn't sound like much, but I haven't been able to do that for almost five years due to arthritis in my elbow. It also goes straighter than it has been in close to 20 years.
I just wish I would have had surgery a couple of years ago because I think it's going to be VERY good as far as enabling me to do things more normally and with far less pain. Chief among them........I'll be able to reach the handlebars much more comfortably!
Hopefully, I'll be able to get a ride or two (or more!) in before the weather changes. If not, I'll still be a happy camper and looking forward to next year all the more. Especially since I am going to retire for good on my wife's birthday, March 31.
So everyone that can.......get out there and enjoy the remaining days of riding season! And ryde safe!
On the road again...........and forever young!

Greetings from Arkansas. So far, 95% of the trees are still green. Others have just a hint of color so far. Last night was our first frost. It got down to the low 30's. We finally had to put the heat on. The forecast says temps on the rise again next week. We are to expect high 60's during the day.
My lawn is now beginning to turn brown, so it looks like grass cutting is finally over. Murphybrown came to visit us last week and her only disappointment was that our rides did not include the beautiful fall colors that the area is known for. They are coming....but not sure when?
Regardless, we are loving our new digs.

Do miss those times.....
Do remember the changes from our time spent in Connecticut.... now we have to travel a ways to see something like that but on the otherhand we can watch the shifting sand dunes....

Getting cooler here too. Never gets too cool to ride, but had to wear a light jacket on the ride this morning. Damp and cool, about 60 degrees, but it was nice riding, except for the early fog.

We plan to spend a week at the Lodge on Mount Magazine in Arkansas the first week of November. I sure hope the leaves are turning then. My wife loves snow and leaves changing.

Fall Foliage in Vermont this weekend
Everyone,
This weekend in Vermont is peak for Fall foliage season.
The temps have been in the 50's to 60's sunny, cool. Excellent spyder riding weather, but next week the weather forecast changes,it is suppose to be much cooler, and possible snow ( white fungus) in the higher elevations.
For those you can still ride spyders due the weather ( before they put there spyders into hibernation)take advantage.
Also be safe out there.
I put mine in for its long winters nap today

We have had a lot of rain this week. Went from almost 60 degrees to the 30’s in a matter of hours. We drove to Wisconsin today and are spending the night in Durand. Heading home tomorrow. Snowed and rained all day and did not make it to 40 degrees , so we took the RAV, rather than the Spyder.

Fall colors are poppin' here at 6000' elevation in Northern Nevada. We are mostly pine forest up here but there are many places where the colors really contrast the constant green.

I looked up Mount Magazine in the AR Motorcycle Travel Guide. We are going to add that ride to our regular rides when we want to go a couple hundred miles or more. Sounds like some great scenery and places to visit. You pick em good.

<When> you're planning to use STABIL when putting away the Spyder for the winter then take note that the STABIL instructions suggest you have a FULL TANK of fuel (and therefore a limited airspace) before adding your few ounces of the STABIL liquid.

When you drive down the south side of the mountain, go west into Oklahoma. It extends the 'good ride.'
Also, check out the Lodge while on the mountain. Nice get-away.
