Top Speed
Though I hesitate to ask, knowing that these machines are not racers, what is a realistic top speed for a Spyder (998, 1330, different models, etc.)? Surely some of you have "seen what it would do". What say you?

As for myself: I try to never ride faster, than my Guardian Angel can fly...
Having said that...
My 2010 RT (998) was pretty much done at about 101 mph
My 2014 RT (1330) was still pulling at 109 mph
-
Depends...
How fast would you like to go. These machines have limiters and I believe 120 mph is where they are at. Have seen folks state more but for myself I have only been to 117 mph and that cleared the whole speed thing up for me.

Just curious. My 998 Rt hit 103. My RTS 1330 was still pulling at 107 in 5th gear. I hadn't got to 6th yet. Mine would probably go 117 but I'm not going to try.

My 990 RS has shown 117mph on the speedo. Not sure how much more it had after that but there was a bit of RPM left before redline. From 0-80mph its fairly quick, 80-100mph isn't bad either. 100mph and up the speed builds slower. I'm typically in the 50-85mph range and at those speeds its pretty good although I'd like a little more "pull".

Things learned from ECU testing
Any 1330 Spyder with the 79 tooth sprocket, RT, F3 Base, current F3L have overlapping layers of ECU restrictions that start at EXACTLY 95 mph.
This is when Can-am starts to roll the throttle butterflies closed based on a number of factors related to gear and speed. With a stock rear tire, under ideal conditions, 112 mph is the highest tested mph.
112 mph stock rear tire = 108 mph actual. The butterflies are totally closed off period.
Any 1330 Spyder with the 89 tooth sprocket, F3S, F3T have overlapping layers of ECU restrictions that start at EXACTLY 105 mph.
This is when Can-am starts to roll the throttle butterflies closed based on a number of factors related to gear and speed. With a stock rear tire, under ideal conditions, 118 mph is the highest tested mph.
118 mph stock rear tire = 115 mph actual.
I have tried to get Monster fuel to unleash at least the F3S and F3T of all restrictions with the Stage 1 Flash. They are saving that for the Stage TWO ECU Flash which is coming soon?
I have been told it's a complete bolt on TURBO kit?
Not stated on the flash form, but can be asked for, is to have a Spyder with the 79 tooth sprocket, RT, F3 base ans F3L flashed in the F3S speed restrictions.
What this does for the RT is to keep the butterflies fully open to 105 mph instead of 95 mph. Not a real deal breaker for anyone who rarley sees triple digits.

110 or slightly less seems to be what has been posted over the years.
I am with those who have never pushed the to its limits. I have had five assorted and over 140,000 miles combined.
I have never red lined any of them either. I have had most of them up to 90 or so but only for a small period of time. I like to cruise down the highway at no more than five mph above the posted limits. That way, I always avoid getting tagged by the officers doing the speed traps.
Those who like to go faster usually end up getting a ticket. I wave at them when I drive by.

Couldn't care less what top speed is on this machine. I bought to cruise around and take the occasional trip on. With that said I know there is always someone who will want to soup up a washing machine or a riding lawn mower like Honda did. I am anxious to see what some folks do with their bikes.

I've hopped up both of my snow blowers?????? Yes they do work much better. At my altitude in the Sierra's we get wet, heavy snow which my modified machines make quick work of.

Had mine up to 35 mph then I lost my nerve when I almost lost control.

Both my machines are/were plain factory vanilla -- no performance mods.
OLD: 107 as best I recall. In 5th (top) gear.
NEW: 115, generally. 117 with some tailwind. In 5th gear; not enough power to do more in 6th. It gets 100+ very quickly in 4th.
I don't try this very often. Only on the spur of the moment, when conditions seem perfect. It only takes 3-4 minutes to Git 'Er Done.

Only 100 per GPS reading. Only because the speed limit was 70 mph and everyone was blowing by me like I was standing still. Decided (just that once) to see what some of them were doing and hit 100 before I started to gain on some of them.
Never again.

I had my 2012 RT up to 113mph and my 2015 RTS up to 119mph. I think I can get Cocaine up to 120, just haven't had the chance yet. Need to put new rubber on the rear before I do that.

My Thoughts
Exactly Jack that is why we like to stay off the interstates.

124 Mph
There's a video of a dude in Germany doing 200Km/h on his F3, which is for us, metric-challenged is 124 Mph

Love it!
Great video. Even the semis are speeding.

I got to 102 once before my wife looked at the speedometer and said something I can't repeat in my headset and hit me in the back of my helmet. Now I have to wait till I ride by myself to act a little crazy. Which is very seldom. If the bike starts out of the garage she is usually standing at the end of the driveway with our helmets in her hands. She is already planing weekend trips since we ordered our aluminum trailer. Yea.
