I personally love the idea that it is keyless. I’ll be getting one when they come out. Thanks Lamont.

NEW FUEL CAP
I do like the look but would be afraid some jerk would steal the gas cap or put some foreign object in the tank. I have had no trouble closing my cap since I sprayed silicone on the rubber gasket. Great product, though, for those that are interested.

Riding motorcycles all over the USA and owning well over 50 motorcycles as well as owning lots of cars and trucks for 60 years anyhow. Never had anyone mess with a gas cap in any way.
Keyless Gas Cap sounds great.

Looks good to me. I didn't know that I wasn't alone in struggling with the gas cap.

Someone stealing the gas cap or putting some foreign object in the tank would be enough of a worry that you would not buy the product? That surprises me. Does that happen often in the US?

We have had a number of them like that in our shop. Have been able to fix all of them with proper lubrication and instruction on how to close the lid.

It is a snazzy new farkle! And if aesthetics is the reason for it then it makes all the sense in the world. No need to justify your farkle urges to me.
Suppose I was lucky in the aesthetics area as the matte finish silver gas cap was a perfect match for my color scheme. Not so much on a triple black.

I was wondering how people with IPS keys open their gas lid?

Still works fine. We have a few customers that use them.

Original Gas Cap - Question
Can the Lamonster Garage share with us what they have been doing to the original caps to make them work better?

The one thing I dislike about the factory setup is having to remove the key, insert the key, unlock the lid, lock the lid remove the key, insert the key... I did not have to deal with that on my ST with a gas door. If I pull in listening to some good tunes, they will be interrupted by the whole thing. Also the key insertion requires just the right angle or it will not go in. Just pulling in and unscrewing the cap like every other motorcycle on the planet is very attractive to me.

Sounds like James needs to share what he's doing because everything I've done doesn't last that long.

TriFlow lubricant in the slide latch mechanism. Seems to last 6 months or more.

But it is not near as good looking as Lamont's new farkle. And I agree the key hole swap dance at the gas station gets old.

Even though I have no issues opening and closing the gas cap using Lamonsters IPS key after lubricating the seal I still want one.
