trunk release when key doesn't work?
Has not happened to me but I was wondering if there is an emergency trunk release on the F3?
or how to open if the key did not work?

I found on my RT that pushing down on the Fronk Hood right in the center over the latch, BEFORE turning the Key unlocks it. Hold the Hood down, turn the Key to the left, and it should unlock. Also, I sprayed some WD40 on the spring and latch. Before I held the Hood down, the Key would not open the latch. Not sure if the F3 has the same set up as my 2016 RT. Tho.

Dave, they may not have answered as there are many threads already posted on this issue that are fairly easy to find through a quick search.

Not the F3 but should apply to all latches.

thanks
the latch in the video is quite different from the F3 which uses a vertical pin. I suspect the release method is similar.
I was really looking to find if there was a way to unlatch the latch pin if the electric release using the key did not work. Or if you needed trunk access and had no key.
Was hoping to hear there was a cable hidden somewhere that would release the latch.
There is that feature on some cars and I was hoping to find similar.
So now I can hope it never happens to me

Had that problem when my F3s (D-500 SE) was new. "Factory stuck @ delivery" & didn't realize it until home. Thought something was wrong but eventually it released after numerous attempts. I do recall applying light pressure over the latch area numerous times before it opened. (But not while working the key/ignition.)
Decided I wouldn't be putting anything in the "frunk" that I might want/need for my ride home. (like helmet) Also made me think about the consequences of buying something & having to return it just because I couldn't get it home lol.

got my answer in a private message
hook a wire to the latch release, run it out the left side and zip tie in place above the top of the shock, out of sight and out of the way-it'll be there if/when I need it
will be doing it later this week
