They also turned the Streetglide into a trike now - $26K for stock bike.

Boy I think a lot of you need to take a deep breath and relax a bit. Granted its not a spyder, but it is a three wheeler. I and a lot of other people here own other bikes besides the spyder. Me included a BMW & a Yamaha. After all we are still all bikers right? Hope you enjoy your new Harley trike. Oh and its nice looking too.

Of course if you are just talking transportation with 3 wheels then there are other vehicles that fit this definition. But they are night and day. From cornering to panic stops, I just don't think anyone could honestly compare a standard trike to the Spyder.

Enjoy your trike. Take it easy on the turns-two wheels on the back are not nearly as stable as two wheels on the front.

Listing our other toys is one thing - but listing what you bought instead of the Spyder is just strange.

Rode a Goldwing trike once, reminded me of a Buick convertible. Haven't found one yet that can keep up in the twisties.

I have done "things" on my spyder that I dont think can be done or anyone would want to do on a regular "trike". Its all in what YOU wanna do and what YOU like

    Yep.

    That's a Hemi.

(By Canadian Marcus Braun back in 2005, in response to a design competition with the theme "What would you put a Hemi in?" Other entrants were a merry-go-round, a snow blower, and a paper shredder. Braun's trike design won. Scotty and LittleJohn--stop drooling.)

Looks just like the one my riding buddy rides; or at least he rides it when it runs. He keeps a Honda for a back-up. LOL!! Is that a new one or old one

I test-rode a Goldwing trike the day before purchasing the Spyder. Its like riding your La-Z-boy down the street -- you get there, and its comfortable, but not much fun. If you're just interested in air and drive mostly freeways on long-haul trips, I can see it.

But the next day, riding the Spyder through the twisties, showed that there is no comparison!

If someone rides both the Spyder and a trike and thinks the trike is worth twice (or more) what the Spyder costs then that's great.

Still, I agree that it is just strange to post what you got instead of the Spyder on this board.

Obviously, we all had the same choices and all decided on the Spyder. That's why we are here. If we had decided on something else we would post our new ride on a board where everyone else had made the same choice.

I have to wonder, if someone were to post on a HD board that they got a Spyder instead of an HD, I can imagine that you might get a bit different response there than you did here.

    Default I happen to disagree...

If you want to expand to any transportation that lets the wind blow through your hair we could add my M109R and a Corvette convertable to the list of "Available Options".

I am 100% in favor of everyone riding what they like best. I hope your new trike turns out to be exactly what you were looking for.

Still, can't help but think you may be riding along some day and see a Spyder going by and wonder if you make the right choice.

The reality is that the Spyder is a great product in concept and totally fun when it works well. Some of us are looking for what else is out there out of frustration with its quality and service. No custom shop or startup company could do better than a mid-size company like BRP. So until the Japanese giants get in this market, the Spyder is the only viable game in town.

I wrote identical letters to Yamaha and Honda making them know that there is a growing market for this type of product. I also know that BRP is working hard on improving. I hope we can achieve in the future both a stonger and more customer-oriented BRP and some fun viable alternatives and healthy competition...

No disrespect taken. There are other products, like the T-Rex, that some feel are options to the Spyder.

I was mainly thinking production and common standard trikes (like the Goldwing).

I'd like to try them all. Some look pretty cool and would probably offer some advantages to the Spyder.

I can't wait - I'd love to see more competition - AFFORDABLE competition!
