Blue Ridge Parkway Paving
Spotted this article this morning. Prepare for tar and chips in places on the BRP if you're going that direction.

I am not familiar with the mile markers. Does anyone know which state this repaving is in? And will it be in the northern or southern portion of which state? I will be there in August, but I will be mainly on the areas south of Little Switzerland.

Two useful web sites for traveling the BRP. You can download / view official NPS maps that show mile markers and points of interest and real time road conditions. The mile markers in the news article are in VA. MM 1 is north and they get larger as you go southbound. For tar and chips (ChipSeal), the belt guard from SpyderPops is a must have. It has saved my bacon more than once.
