Why have you chosen NOT to include the information field that contains what model we ride in the upper left corner of message posts ??
<<<< The information over here.
I think that would be really helpful.
Most other forums I frequent are set up that way.

The information is usually available, but takes more of a look. To see about a particular poster just click on their name, a menu with four choices will pop up. There is an "about me" which usually gives all the information that the poster wishes to share with the site. Other places include pictures, or signature descriptions. It's all about what the person wishes to share.

Agree...
the avatar on the left is a picture only. If you share the model etc you best do it in the signature otherwise follow steps above...

Easy Rider. you might get a faster answer, without the flack, if you sent a message to Lamont, since he is the one in charge. I've only been a member here a little over a year now, and this is the first time this subject has come up. Maybe you are the only one who finds this important.

How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?

I reckon it's much easier just to put your info in your signature. That way people know what you ride and what particular mods you have done to your Spyder.

I assume the forum is based on an off-the-shelf software and can only be customized to a certain extent. I don't know if that is something that can be modified or not, but I'm sure there's a cost associated with each mod. I've never heard this request before, either. Lamonster would be the one to make the proposal to.

Given that other sites using the same software have it that way, I assumed that it was possible.
And given the title of this sub-forum, I assumed that the owner/operator would be responding to questions like this. But it appears that I might be wrong on that one.

I don't know that a response to this question would be at the top of my priority list if I was overseeing this forum, Easy Rider.......especially since you can show this info elsewhere on your profile info.

Next you will want to make it mandatory to put it there.

Yes you are absolutely right.
And this comment coming from someone who does NOT choose to show her ride in the signature either......like a lot of folks it seems.
I wonder how many people on here don't realize what a "signature" even IS ??

You are trying very hard to make a "mountain out of a molehill..."
By having the info in your signature line: it gives folks a chance to personalize things a bit...

I am doing no such thing.
I am making a simple, serious suggestion.
Note how many people do NOT show anything (or anything useful) in their sig.
Also note that having the ride information displayed with the avatar in NO WAY prevents you from customizing your signature.
Seems to me like it is YOU who is turning this into an unnecessary argument.
If you really want to help the discussion along, how about telling me exactly how I contact the admin./owners here.......since they don't seem to be monitoring their "support" forum ??

Easy Rider, have you even tried to contact the forum's administrator with your request?

Well yes. I thought making a post HERE would be a good way to do that.
Guess that idea was wrong.
Then I asked if someone would give me Lamont's username; that didn't work either.
I just now sent a comment to the "administrator" and it said that it was sent to the "webmaster".
I have no way of knowing if Lamont is the one who will get it or not.

Lamont's handle here is Lamonster. I think the admin link goes to him too.

Easy Rider, if you have a look at your initial post, there has not been a single "thanks" or "like" of your post. There have been plenty of replies to your post, so it keeps being bumped up the chain, but no one appears to believe this is an issue of note for them, especially when this info can already be placed in your signature.
As such, it would appear that the majority of members on here would rather that Lamont concentrate on running his highly valued Spyder accessories business, than down tools to chase your one off forum change, for very little general benefit.
it's effectively a supply and demand issue.
