I had been chatting with JT back and forth over the past month about a bypass pipe for the 998 RT's. He had actually been working on one but it had been put on a back shelf due to his other projects and job duties.... but my interests sparked him again and he diligently began to work on it. My main reason for this... I know there are 2 other bypass pipes out there but they are both around $400 and while I know there is a lot of trial and error on these, I just can't see a $400 price tag. Anyway, I was the first to get one of these and I'll give a little info on my install.
First off, I had my camera running and I had planned on taking some stills from the video but after I was done I found out.... the camera had died so I do have my pics. But I took the cat and muffler off as a whole unit due to the muffler bolts being a pain to remove with stripping. Once all this was off, the bypass went on really easy. I swapped all the hangers over and installed new gaskets. Now JT made this bypass with a 2 piece design on the right pipe so you have a little more adjustability when lining everything up. And let me tell you it worked wonderfully. Everything lined up correctly and when installing the muffler it bolted on just like it did to the oem cat. You do have to use a 2 1/4" muffler clamp on the 2 piece pipe on the right side after tightening everything down.
I did run at idle for 15 min and then cool down for 30 then did a test ride. And the sound was great....deeper and throatier. Feels like it did pick up a little low end and mid range torque also. Only thing I didn't really like was at about 5200-5300 rpm i seems to have a little raspiness I'm sure due to the 2 small outlets on the oem muffler. Nothing to do with his pipe but I'm wanting to find a solution to get rid of the raspy part in that range.
I'm very happy with the pipe and for anyone who has been putting off installing a bypass.... let me tell you it is worth it. And for me, JT's made is easier and more affordable to do so.

I believe the other units on the market are stainless steel. This could be the main factor in price difference.

Should be listed on his website. Not sure if he has any ready. I just received it last wednesday and was installed yesterday. I sent him my feed back so he probably hasn't had time to make any yet.
I wonder if he'll consider creating one for the 1330s?
He may. The 1330 pipe looks a lot easier and simpler to make so he could possibly be interested. Email and see what he thinks. He seems to really like to fabricate things and good at it too.
