There is no SPEED limiter; but there is a rev limiter...

Maybe I was expecting something more like the sound of my Leo Vince on my Versys, but the TBR single Black Series is plenty loud for my taste. And no fuel management needed.
I added a K&N filter* and a Juice Box Pro and the system just became way too loud for me. I added a TBR silencer tip and now there's a nice rumble. Exactly the sound i was looking for.
*Not sure what would have happened had Kewlmetal responded to my inquiry to buy their intake system instead of just a filter. That might have pushed the sound waaay over the edge.

HMF
I have the HMF Performance Series on my 2011RSS, i love the tone, but it is a bit too loud, so I end up tailend Charlie on most group rides, which by the way suits me, nothing better than following a dozen or so Spyders down the road.

Voodoo exhaust
I have the voodoo slip-on exhaust on my 2009 Phantom GS SM5! It's sounds mean and all my buddies love the sound even my Harley buddies turn their heads to listen to mine. But I'm noticing that it smells to be running lean and possibly putting gas into my oil? Is there a way to remap without a power commander? Is it just a computer thing to get changed at the dealer? I have been running it for almost a UR and have had no problem. Are there issues I could get down the road or am I in the clear if it has not done anything yet?

What? Speak up, I can't hear you!
We have the stock exhaust. On a recent group ryde we followed another couple that had some kind of very loud exhaust. I didn't look to see what it was as I didn't care, I just know that with running a 2 second gap it was loud and irritating to us! At one stop the other couple saw us taking off our helmets and questioned "you use earplugs"? I told them we wanted to keep our hearing and if they kept ryding their Spyder with their exhaust they would continue to lose their hearing. At that point their eyes glazed over and we got blank stares.
Takes all kinds I guess...

I rode a stock F3, for 1 day, and got cut off twice. That's about a years worth of cutoffs for me in 1 day. People just don't notice bikes and Spyders, even when all the usual good riding practices to not get squashed are used.
I run an HMF, and it's a bit too loud for my tastes, and probably my neighbours, but it keeps me conspicuous, and safer. So it is a compromise.

Do you get a lot of cracking and popping on deceleration?
When you put the pipe on, did you start the bike and let it idle for 15 minutes, so the computer could adjust the mix?

Did you have to modify the gas intake when adding the two brothers pipes? Ive heard two brothers are the best. Which model do you have on your can am?

This thread was started by someone looking for pipes that would work on the 990 series engines...
Be careful, because what has been discussed might not work on your 991 series bike.

Pipe Size
I have searched various threads, contacted my local dealers parts/service departments but can't find the answer to a simple question. What size is the pipe on the converter to the muffler. I am wanting modify my exhaust but can't find the this dimension before starting.

Just remove the muffler.

Check out this guys web site. I bought a pipe from him at the Spyder in the hills rally last month. This guy was very professional and built the exhaust himself. I love the “tone” it has and I have better low end torque.
