    Default Kayaks behind a spyder?

Has anyone ever seen a lightweight kayak trailer that can be towed behind a spyder? (For 2 kayaks)

Hi Chuck .... You are either going to make it yourself or have it made .....either way not difficult .......First You need to know EXACTLY what your load ( kayaks are )....... Then find a 4 X 4 trailer that is lightweight and just buy the Kayak carriers and bolt them on........I think this is very DOABLE for not a lot of money .........JMHO.........Mike

I just got back from a week trip in some national forests, state forests, and lake cottage. I saw a lot of homemade Kayak trailers fashioned from the Harbor Freight trailer frames. All used some treated lumber as the kayak shelving. I know the weight for the trailer is less than 200lbs and about 30-40 lbs per kayak so it's very doable for less than $300.

We found an aluminum jet ski trailer at an auction for 200.00. striped it down and bought 2 J-hook car top carrier mounts. We pull it with an electric golf cart with no problem.

I use the Yakima Rack and Roll. Can carry two kayaks or four bikes.

I finally found the better photo of the setup that Butch made to haul our kayaks. I believe the trailer is from Northern Hydrolic.
