    Default Wife's first Spyder - RT-S or Limited 2016

The limited is about 5k more but she likes the Chome. Other than the GPS, luggage, chrome what other features make the difference? Somewhere I read the word "auto"

    Thoughts?

I think you've pretty much covered the differences, but for my wife and I, it is worth the difference in price. The luggage fits perfectly and holds a surprising amount. The hard-wired GPS is great for me who has no sense of direction in a city. As for the chrome, it's sure purty. When my wife saw the Limited, she said, "If you want me to ride with you, that's the one we're getting". We have both been very happy with it.

The SE (semi-automatic) is available in the RT-S, too. But I agree with your wife, the Limited is the way to go.

I would not buy the Limited for myself. One, I don't care for all that flashy chrome. Too much work to keep it looking shiny. Two, I never found the luggage to be particularly useful taking into account what I carry in my trunks and saddlebags. My used 2013 RT came with a luggage set, tossed in gratis to the original owner; and three, I prefer a 7", and now 8", tablet with a GPS app for navigation.

If you like the extras that come with the Limited, and expect to use them, then go for it. Between the RTS and the Ltd it all comes down to personal preference for the extra goodies. Under the plastic they are the same machine.

I'm on the same page as IdahoMtnSpyder, to me chrome is a pain to clean. I use GPS on my phone and I lived without the luggage for years but I also prefer the manual tranny which is only available (for now) in the RTS and base RT.

I would prefer the RTS SE-6. But you should always defer to your wife!

Thanks for the info. I may look at the RTS and replace the black rims with chrome. I also use a tablet for my gps. Let's see what she says now.

If you're going to do that then just get the Ltd. Black wheels hide brake dust much better than chrome.

For the price difference i like the RT-S.Not a big fan of the chrome.Bought the front luggage case off a guy for 125 bucks.Bought a Garmin on sale 100 bucks. That leaves a lot of gas money and the power train to me is the main thing and their both the same.

The limited will save you in things she will want later ,floor bords & heated grips, may open wiggle room for farkle & trip budgets. Some like the luggage set, others sell it right off bat. Other thing to teas/test you with do you think you will want a trailer? Roughly the cost differance & opens few doors for travel. Crunch the numbers

I always knew you were a little "shifty" Ann. Me, I love the semi auto and so does Camille. In all my years of riding leaners I have become "Shiftless" I guess.

    Hi Jack!
Is the difference between "Shifty", and "Shiftless"; about the same as the difference between "Good for nothing", and "Better than nothing"?

We picked a 2016 RT Limited in red yesterday. She's loving it! Here is a pic of our son on it. He has an ST.
