2017 Line Up - ST Benched?
It looks like Can Am announced the 2017 line up via a Tweet this morning. I've already seen Lamont's review of the Daytona edition of the F3. Like the new blue F3 and the Champagne RT. What seems to be missing in the 2017 line up is the ST... Any more news on that?

How about a link?

The ST is no longer in the lineup.

BRP's Spyder website appears to have the new information, but it's painfully slow...

I saw one page titled 2017 Early Release - introducing the latest Can Am Spyder models. Looks like the RS isn't in the 2017 Models list, either

A short time ago the Can-am Spyder website was giving the option of either 2016 or 2017 machines to look at. I believe that I saw both the ST and the RS missing, but now I can't access the site to look again so maybe it is still under construction.

Looks like all of the F3-T's get a black frame. No more red/orange frame on the pure magnesium version. The frame color on the Pure Magnesium F3-S isn't quite as bold of a red/orange color, either. The base F3 model may be gone, as well. If this line up is the final one, the the V-twins are history...

At Spyderfest a year ago, one of the BRP directors was walking around in the parking lot, asking questions of the owners, taking pictures, etc. one of his comments at that time was that BRP was planning to get to more of a mid-year announcement for the next year's models, similar to the car industry. Looks like they made it happen this year! And they used social media to break the news. Pretty cool!

The 2016/2017 viewing option is working.
The RS, ST, and Base F3 models seem to be missing.

Good buy BRP. It was fun while it lasted.
I'll never buy an RT and the F3 just isn't a riding position I can do. It just doesn't work for me physically.
My only option is to buy a 2016 RSS and ride it until its too old I guess. But, I'm thinking the value of the GS, RS, RSS will drop greatly now (not that they were great before).
I signed up for the 10th anniversary homecoming but I probably won't go now. Wonder if I can get my money back?

... Motorcycles are kind of like Baskin Robbins... You're looking at 31 flavors of ice cream, don't you kind of want to know what they all taste like?...

Wow! No RS?? There's no F3 Ltd, either!
I don't think it is just showing the changes, since the F3S and F3T are the same as the '16s.
I kinda like the champagne color on the RTS.
-
The RTs looked pretty much unchanged...

September Release Event???
One thing does intrigue me about this announcement - it's the "2017 Early Release". By removing the RS from the line up, there is one noticeable hole in the line up - the pure sport machine. Maybe there's another shoe yet to drop and they're waiting for the fall release event. What would make more sense than a 10th anniversary RS with the 1330 engine and the Sport Mode now in the F3, just in time for the 10th anniversary event? From a production and support economies of scale, it makes a lot of sense to only have to support a single engine type. And with more power and torque, better mileage, and longer service intervals, I suspect most would want that in any machine, regardless of the style.
BRP has had a major release event in the fall of each of the last four years.
- Fall, 2012 - announce the 2013 ST
- Fall, 2013 - announce the 2014 RT with the 1330
- Fall, 2014 - announce the 2015 F3-S with the 1330
- Fall, 2015 - announce the 2016 F3-T with the 1330
- Fall, 2016 - sit on our hands just ahead of the 10th anniversary????
With factoring in some old rumors that the 2013 ST was supposed to have gotten the 1330, but it wasn't quite ready, notice the pattern here? I suspect there could be a small slice of the marketplace for a pure sport Spyder, one with the aggressive sport bike riding position, plenty of power and a Sport mode that lets you run with it. And perhaps a turbo - what did Lamont say in the Daytona video - "not yet, anyway"? Something like that could really help turn the RS into a real option for the crotch-rocket types...So if BRP plans to carry on their tradition of a fall release event, there may be more yet on the horizon.

I always thought they would keep the RS as an entry level. They even lowered the prices in 2013 for the RS. Most people cant or wont spend 20K+ for a toy. What I always wanted to see is for BRP to put the 1330 in the RS. I might have traded in my F3 for that!!!

The triple, and it's cooling system; wouldn't fit underneath the existing bodywork...

I like the new optional front fenders for the F3. The light integrated into the front tip.
