    Default Drilling mufler

If I used a foot long 1" drill bit, into both muffler exhaust outlets, could i deepen the sound of my F3? or at least get it louder?
Anyone have an audio on this?

I already have the bit(cost maybe $6). I used it previously on a Harley.

    Thumbs down

I know, How about a 3 foot long bit, and you just drill to China.

If you think my answer sounds stupid and inconsiderate, then you know how this thread sounds to me.

Have you installed the bypass pipe or the pipe/muffler from Pitbull? The bypass pipe will give you a deeper tone. The baffle will muffle it down some if too loud.

It's hard to try and deepen the sound of 1330 .

They are not like the twins

How about an exhaust that has our 1330 sound like an Aston Martin, best sounding car made IMO.

Default 1330 poor sound. not a twin

This is my twin mod. It has a deep tone, boomer if you will. Cut the small end pipe out then welded 1 and 5/8 id outlets. Flipped buffler over cut a piece out and removed the pipe mess then welded the cut out part back on. This gives a large expansion area and with larger pipes better flow. It does not have the high pitch noise you get with the stright thru glass pack muffler. Used grill high temperature paint. Cost $7.95 for pipe from Advance Auto. I cheat, as I have a plasma cutter and mig welder. I have not tried the 1330 muffler yet. The cat bypass and stright thru muffler are too high pitch for my liking. Good luck.

I have added 3 holes to my Vstar pipes, helped a little however I don't believe that you will get the same effect on the Spyder.

Lenox Tools 1772481 1-Inch 16A Bi-Metal Speed Slot Arbored Hole Saw
    $10.98 at Amazon

The Lenox Tools 1772481 16A Bi-Metal Speed Slot Arbor Hole Saw, 1-Inch outperforms all competitors in wood cutting, plug removal, and metal cutting applications. The new hole saw also features up to twice the life of the previous model when cutting metal. An enhanced tooth geometry, a thin kerf design and an advanced coating contribute to the efficiency of the cutting process by removing material faster, therefore generating less heat while cutting.

No, I am the sorry one. I shouldn't ridicule. I apologize. Once when I was 14, I did some goofy
exhaust mods to a beloved SL 350 Honda. There is really nothing you can mod, that can't be fixed
with money, if it doesn't turn out.

    Default No drilling

I once modified the exhaust by sharpening a piece of rebar and punching holes in the baffle back plate. Not onl my spyder, for that I got an R77 Yoshimura. The holes made a change in the sound but not a good sound...

I like your mod. Did you fab the tip or is it off the shelf. Fabricator = one who makes stuff you do not have. My dealer gave me a muffler and told me to see what I could do with it. I still have the prototype. The one in mt pix is the final product I run now. Did you open the bottom and free flow yours? I love keeping the naysayers in a tiff. Ride on!

Yes I fabbed the end love making things you cant buy, no I didn't open the bottom up no need to once you cut the end off you can do enough from the rear without making it to load.

Not quite a Flowmaster copy, but maybe a little bit similar?
It is a plumbers nightmare in the stock muffler. I cleaned mine out with a plasma torch. I do not think a drill would do much good. By cleaning out the inside, makes the empty space produce a deep tone.

Thanks for the info. I retired from Welder repair. I was a field Eng for Miller, Hobart, Lincoln and ESAB. Also robot welding and water table cutting. I love retirement!

My wife has a 2015 f3s and so does her sister. Her sister put a Cat bypass pipe on hers a little too loud for my wife. This weekend I remove her 1st muffler which has the cat in it. With out cutting any holes I remove the cat from the muffler. What I got was a low tone out of the f3.
