Drilling mufler
If I used a foot long 1" drill bit, into both muffler exhaust outlets, could i deepen the sound of my F3? or at least get it louder?
Anyone have an audio on this?
-
I already have the bit(cost maybe $6). I used it previously on a Harley.
-
I know, How about a 3 foot long bit, and you just drill to China.
If you think my answer sounds stupid and inconsiderate, then you know how this thread sounds to me.
-
Have you installed the bypass pipe or the pipe/muffler from Pitbull? The bypass pipe will give you a deeper tone. The baffle will muffle it down some if too loud.

It's hard to try and deepen the sound of 1330 .
They are not like the twins

Sorry you're having a bad day, 4 Marie.

How about an exhaust that has our 1330 sound like an Aston Martin, best sounding car made IMO.

There are other muffler mods here, one just has to dig them out.

Thanks for the suggestions

I have added 3 holes to my Vstar pipes, helped a little however I don't believe that you will get the same effect on the Spyder.

No, I am the sorry one. I shouldn't ridicule. I apologize. Once when I was 14, I did some goofy
exhaust mods to a beloved SL 350 Honda. There is really nothing you can mod, that can't be fixed
with money, if it doesn't turn out.

No drilling
I once modified the exhaust by sharpening a piece of rebar and punching holes in the baffle back plate. Not onl my spyder, for that I got an R77 Yoshimura. The holes made a change in the sound but not a good sound...

Yes I fabbed the end love making things you cant buy, no I didn't open the bottom up no need to once you cut the end off you can do enough from the rear without making it to load.

After seeing the photos, it did not seem viable to drill since the baffle did not appear "conventional" It had some kind of odd shaped diffuser that I thought the guy removed.
Not quite a Flowmaster copy, but maybe a little bit similar?
It is a plumbers nightmare in the stock muffler. I cleaned mine out with a plasma torch. I do not think a drill would do much good. By cleaning out the inside, makes the empty space produce a deep tone.

Thanks for the info. I retired from Welder repair. I was a field Eng for Miller, Hobart, Lincoln and ESAB. Also robot welding and water table cutting. I love retirement!

My wife has a 2015 f3s and so does her sister. Her sister put a Cat bypass pipe on hers a little too loud for my wife. This weekend I remove her 1st muffler which has the cat in it. With out cutting any holes I remove the cat from the muffler. What I got was a low tone out of the f3.

How did you remove the cat from the muffler?
