I am new to the Spyder platform. Have been riding HDs for several years and decided to make the switch. Since the switch, I do not know anyone else who rides 3-Wheel cycles and I find myself riding alone. How many people show up at rally's riding solo? Do most people go with friends who ride? Just wondering. I would like to attend a few rally's this next season, but don't want to be "that guy.)
My wife and I rode to Spyders in the Redwoods alone and met several good people there. You wouldn't have to be alone once you are there. As a disclaimer I did know a couple of people there but we arrived at different times by different routes. We didn't hang out with those people because they were busy. (Vendors). Met a lot of folks off this site so it was fun to put faces to name. Go. You will have a good time, but only if you want to have a good time.
Rode 1,800 miles solo round trip to Spyderfest and met great folks at all the events I attended there. The best was an impromptu lunch bunch at vendor village. It was a new and fun event for me and I'm looking forward to 2016.

otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

When I attended SpyderFest 2013; I rode out in a large group of Spyders.
We had a lot of fun getting there together, but the group split up at that point, and we were on our own.
And I was lucky enough to make friends with some REALLY good folks, and I now consider them to be some of the best friends that I have!
I too am an ex-Harley rider, not by choice, but it's just one of those things. My wife and I went to a Spyder get together at Spyder Comfort in Edgewater for Biketoberfest, by ourselves, and when we left that night to head for home, we had a nice group of new friends. Don't worry about being 'that' guy, just ride where you want, and there are going to be many people that are going to come up to you and ask about your ride. Enjoy the Spyder, and the new people you are going to meet. Believe me, I haven't met a poisser on a Spyder, just nice folks.

How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?
My friend and I rode our Spyders out to Spyderfest this spring, done about 1600 mi. This was my first rally and I had a ball, made a lot of new friends and had a great time. It was well planned and everything went smooth, you won't be a stranger very long..

My first rally was Spyderfest 13. I went by myself didn't know anyone out there and I met some wonderful lifelong friends. I had the time of my life. The MoGang group is such a positive group and make you feel welcome. All the Spyders events that I have attended have been great. So if you come alone you won't be alone for long.
My next scheduled event is Spyders on the Bayou March 16, 2016

I met many new friends at Spyderfest this past spring, but sadly I don't remember who! When I meet them again next year, they'll be new friends again! One of the impacts of the aging process is that old friends are always new friends!

You'd be surprised at the people you meet at rallies. You sit at a table and the next thing you know your talking to complete strangers. By the end of the meal or get together they are no longer strangers but new friends with whom you are exchanging experiences or ideas or knowledge. I once met a couple in New York and started talking Spyders. Next thing I new was that they lived 10 miles from me here in Maine. If it wasn't for my Spyder we would have walked past each other. It's a small world out there and there are millions of people to meet. See you at Spyderfest the friend maker rally.

I ride to the rallies alone and make friends there. I don't know about other brands' rallies, but I've found the Spyder crowds to be very friendly and open to meeting new people. I've always appreciated that I can just walk up to a table of folks and ask to join and I'm always welcomed. Going to Spyderfest, for example is like hanging out with 1,000 of your closest friends you didn't even know you had!

Patti,
Remember when you and I met?
It was at the Vendor village...
Roger was underneath the front end of my bike: tightening up the Swaybar end link...
Good times!
What part of Virginia do you live? There are lot's of Spyder Ryders in the DMV (DC, Maryland, Northern VA) area with a couple of Spyder groups on Meetup.com. They get together for group rides, weekend trips and sometimes extended trips.
