shock squeak
got a squeek in the right front shock/suspension parts. noticed when getting on the bike. I have 950 miles on the bike ..sooo not much.
i disconnected the sway bar still squeeks. lubed the lower a arm points, still squeeks. cant ge the lube on the upper nipples.
shot some wd 40 on the lower shock bolt. still squeeks.
Anyone have any ideas??? I dont hear it riding of corse but it drives me nuts when I get on the bike
hope its not a ball joint. but i dont think it would be with only 950 miles
THANKS

Two possible cures:
1. Install Hindle
2. Crank the tunes
Dude - you said nipple!

I had to grease the rod that the swaybar connects to under the shock mount. Squeek is now gone!

Are you sure its not some of the plastic body panels shifting and squeaking instead of the suspension parts?

Brutus,
I had the same thing. I tried lubing the shock bushings top and bottom myself with WD-40 and silicone sprays. To reach the top with a grease gun you have to remove the trunk. The dealer ended up having to replace the shock. That was at about 3000 miles.
Good luck,
Mark

You can get a 90* grease gun tip from NAPA online. Don't have the part number... it's been a while.

Suspension creaking
My right front suspension developed a very loud creaking noise mid way through a recent 1800 mile trip. One would think finding a loud creak would be easy and I also tried the WD 40 approach. After two hours of frustratiing search I found the upper rear A arm pivot had no (truly no) grease. I suspected this because the other zerk's had grease residue and this particular zerk was perfectly clean. Getting to the zerk was a trick that required partially loosening the fan shroud. Once I got to the zerk and put in grease the creaking was gone. Makes one question BRP's quality control when a major uspension component had not been greased.
Today I am buying the 90 degree grease gun adapter to make future lubricating the suspension joints easy.

Anyone know if there are grease zerks anywhere else on the spyder? Maybe swingarm?

A right angle connector for your grease gun is the way to go (under $20 - several kinds available). This makes greasing the 8 zerk fittings on the front A-arms quick and easy. You don't have to remove anything. These are the only zerk fittings I know of.

thanks to all - i will try the 90 degree fitting and get it to the top arm fittings.

If I jump on my bike, the shocks squeak a little...I'd think this is normal...you can't hear it when you're riding...
I'd be surprised if you can eliminate all noises from everywhere....
