You're hurling through a sea of birds (and bird ****) , bugs, flying gravel, pieces of tires, etc, at 70 mph plus, with nothing around you except for a windshield.

Cows can do a lot of damage, even to a small truck. Years ago, I rear ended a cow in a Toyota pickup (smaller, before the Tundra) .... yes REAR ended a cow (don't laugh)! Was on the way to work 3rd shift, it was about 10:30PM on a dark country road, around a blind curve, and it was a BLACK cow. I almost didn't see it before I hit ..... glad I did as I scrubbed off a few mph before impact. Front end of truck was a mess .... cow walked away.
