After purchasing Lamont's bypass for the first muffler on my F3, I sought out a bit more sound, did not want to spend another $500 or more, and decided to configure my own system with the help of a welding shop.

So, a "Cherry Bomb" muffler, straight through 2" diameter was purchased, the OEM muffler was cut to obtain the intake pipe, and this was welded to the Cherry Bomb. The OEM heat shield was also changed over.

The result....huge sound when using big throttle, relatively quiet when cruising. And, on backing off the throttle, lots of crackle. Here is what it looks like. The cost was less than $100 for everything, once I had purchased Lamont's bypass pipe.

Does require some work, especially in cutting the pipe from the OEM muffler. The bracket is hand formed from aluminum stock.
