600 or 3000
0ne dealer says my first service is 600 mi (the dealer I got it from) and the closer dealer says that has been dropped and BRP now says 3000 mi till my first service.
Any third opinions out there?
Both dealers say approx. $425.00 for the service. Just seen high. I will be doing my own oil changes but would like the dealer to do the first one.

On the 1330's the first is at 3000 and then 9300 from then on. The first dealer is still going off the 990 schedule.

I have 1600+ miles on my 2015 F3 SE6 and haven't had my first service yet. I'm doing what the manual says and i think (without getting my butt up right now) it says 3000 miles. So that is what I will do.

Any Spyder with the 1330 engine (All F3s and any RT series from 2014 Forward) 1st Service is at 3,000 miles and then every 9,300 miles thereafter or every year, whichever comes first.
But you can do them earlier if you prefer.

Gotta ask....
998 or 1330.....600 or 3000 are you seeing the picture... the manual tells you stuff like this and gives you the opportunity to test your dealer....

The break in suggestion from BRP is 600 miles on all V-twin Rotax. 990 & 998.
The 1330 triple is break-in service at 3000 miles. This includes 2014 RT's, and all F3's forward. After the 3000 mile break-in service the next service is 9,300 miles later (12,300 miles) or, once a year--whichever comes first.
It still amazes me that there are clueless dealers out there that sell a $30K machine and do not even know when the proper time is to change the break-in oil. As I progress in age--those dealers get less an less of my sympathies.
I am going to go and have a Snickers.

BTW everything is in the owners manual. I would avoid the dealer that said 600 miles. First service is really a diagnostic check on brand new machine that hasn't been out on the road.

It's 3,000 and $425 for it is RIPOFF. just change the oil yourself, check belt tension and fluid levels and call it good to go.

I just had my F3 first service done (3000K). I brought my own Amsoil oil. Total cost out the door was about $160

I get mine done at Spyderpops, he supplies the oil, filters and the manpower and checks everything for less than the $160.00 you paid, and he has free jellybeans.

I did mine and Joans at 700 miles just because. We still change at 5000 too but that's me doing the work so it's only the cost of the oil and filters.

Called the dealer for a explanation
Spoke to the service manager
He explained to me, thinking I bought the unlimited Service package that all oil changes would be at no cost for 2 years or pay me $425.00 each time you come in.
That's why he wanted it to come in early and every 3000 after that.
I take it as a insult, referring I did not read the owners manual.
Not only did read it,I reference it all the time. Just sayin
