How do I lift my Spyder?

I know it has been discussed on here but I can't find it...or I'm too lazy to look. What is the best (affordable) lift and front jacks to use to lift my Spyder for removing front tires and oil changes. Also, where are the lift and Jack points on an F3-T.

I and many have one of these. You can get it at Harbor Freight. They are often on sale and they let me use the 20% off coupon on mine. A little spendy (under $200) but you are lifting an expensive machine.

Craftsman sells one, a clone of this one, different color.

If you search this forum.....you will find photos showing where to place it.

the most affordable is the good old standby floor jack that you have seen in every auto service shop you have ever been in. You can get a suitable one and and a couple of floor stands for under $60. If you don't need/want to remove the wheels just get a couple of ramps, that should be around $25.00. You may already have some of this stuff and if it works on your car it will work on your Spyder.

I have a simple floor jack that I have used and 2 sets of ramps. I use the jack to raise one side at a time,if it needs to be up for awhile or I am going to be under it I put some big wood logs I saved from one of our wood gathering expeditions,but your local lumber store will have old railroad ties cheap and they will cut them into sections for you,mine did for free. I use the ramps for oil changes,just back the fronts wheels 1/2 way up then jack up the rear and put a ramp under that.

Long answer to a short question but hopefully you can begin to see the possibilties of what you may already have.

It also helps to have about a dozen friends on hand... friends from your gym!

Don't forget, after you jack it up (no matter what you use)....put jack stands under it for safety !!!!

Or better yet make a rubber pad to help the metal swivel head grip to the main frame box channel. Metal on metal will slip off at the slightest misalignment. A scrap of rubber tire tread, keeps things secure until you get stands situated!! I recycled a piece of tire tread that was slung off along the road, and trimmed it to size.

Or the motorcycle jacks are more stable, but obstruct a lot of space depending on what you need to do underneath.

Hey guys, for u guys who store it in the winter do u lift your spyder to remove weight from the tires or just leave it as is? And if so do u just leave the jack in place with floors Jacks and leave it or is there another way..

I just leave it..... have not experienced flat spots, I dont think there is that much weight on the tires. I have a show car....much heavier and it does get flat spots. There are flat stop preventers (a ramp cut out for the tire) for cars....not sure the Spyder being so low to the ground could get in and out of them.

I use the J&S jack with the Spyder adapter that was made for the 15 RT. It is truly a very secure and very maneuverable jack while the spyder is lifted. There is even a oil drain pan that goes into the jack that catches the oil from both drain plugs at one time.
