It's the text name of this smilie: In case you don't see it, it's an image of a little guy rolling on the floor and laughing.
Smilie text names are automatically converted to images in the forum software. (I don't think you can turn that off in settings.) But I've never used Tapatalk so I don't know if there might be an option there to turn images and smilies on/off in message displays.
