Default Question on rental storage unit sizes...

I'm moving, and will need a rental storage for the winter months. I checked, and they have 5' x 10' and 10' x 10'. I tried to get a close measurement of the front of my 2008 GS. It appears to be almost 60". Does anyone who has/had a GS and stored it in one of the U-storage facilities know for sure if it will fit, or not.

I have the GloRyder casings on right now. If need be, I'll take them off.

    Default WELL - MAYBE

The problem as I see it is, not your measurement but theirs. Also Is the door opening EXACTLY the same as the interior measurement ????.....if even an inch less !!! ........ just some thoughts ...... Mike

Just to be safe: it'd be much better to take the 10x10 storage area...

The listed width for an RS is 59.3"...

Stored my 13 STS last winter in a storage facility. I had to get a 10x10. Even then it was a tight fit front to rear. Left to right the door is more like an 8 foot opening. I honestly don't think you will fit in a 5x10

The actual door opening is just over 47"; the inside space is 5'. You and mike are correct; I'll need at least a 10' x 10'.

    Former LEO:

Get a good lock for the unit and do whatever you can to lock up the SPyder even more....wheel locks, heavy cable and cable through all the wheels....whatever.

These rental units are burglarized A LOT ! They may not break into yours, they will break into a unit and then tunnel through the walls to access the others. Don't rely on the facility for security....rely on yourself.
