    Default Yoshimura R-77

Hello to all, I put a cat delete and Yoshimura R-77 Carbon Fiber on my 2013 RSS.On a recent road trip the inside of the R-77 where the carbon fiber wrap joins blew out big time damaging the carbon fiber beyond repair. So I purchased a stainless R-77 meant for a Suzuki (same shape but a little shorter) and now this has done the same, blown a hole on the inside right in front of the carbon end cap. The stainless one has only done about 4000kms where as the carbon one did around 20000Kms.Most of my riding is done at speeds of between 120 to 160kph. So my question is with the fairly high revs and the offbeat pulses of a V twin be to much for these mufflers to tolerate.
Anybody had this problem are care to comment.
    Cheers: Paul

    Default Interesting. ...

I have a 2012 RS sm5 with the Yoshimura R77 baffle in stainless and it has done great. I did blow the baffle out when the set screw backed out. Put a longer one in drilled a hole in and added a lock pin. Now my Hindle came apart in three occasions and that is why i went to the Yoshimura...
