I'm doing my civic duty...
I read up on write in candidates (for president of the USA). I will be voting for Elliot (Pete's Dragon). At least I know where Elliot stands on the issues most important to him, and he never utters a bad word about anybody. And, I might add that it is great not to hear mudslinging. GO ELLIOT!!!

I am also in that dilemma. None of the above is one of my considerations. Unfortunately, its going to most likely end up either, or.

Campaigning needs an overhaul. I think a law should be made to ban the mudslinging. "No bashing the other candidates"..."All campaigning MUST be in the form of promoting your own beliefs and plans"
I haven't heard any of the candidates speak of any sort of plans they have for improving this country yet! And they wonder why people don't vote?

Why waste your vote, why not try to make a difference one way or the other?
people who never take a stand will fall for anything.
Just my .02 cents worth.

think on this for a moment... not voting ... or voting for a candidate that does not have a ghost chance of winning ... is a vote for the candidate you don't want to win... this November's election is probably the most important election for free AMERICA in over 200 years...

So, without mentioning any names, are you saying one of the two main candidates is offering a successful future? I know they have both offered plenty of mudslinging, and I say one of the two because in a previous post, there was a third candidate mentioned. Oh well, I'll have to look deeply into the third candidate.

Bob,
Here's a different question. If you have 2 candidates running for office, one is twiddle dee and the other is twiddle dumb, and all they have to talk about is basically how far to throw the mud, are you ensuring a successful future with voting for one of those two? And, is it okay to flip a coin to determine your vote?

Just do the best job that you can...
Even if it means holding your nose, and making the choice with a flipped-quarter!
(But if you do that: you can only complain about your own bad luck!)
My Politics are my own, and I'll try my dead-level best to keep it that way.

The Republican and the Democrat are the only viable candidates that can win at this point. Now you have to look at both of them and make a decision. LOOK HARD and with an open mind. And consider what you are subjecting your children and grandchildren to.
Vote your choice .................... But vote.

Hi Bob,
Re: If you don't vote: you have absolutely NO right to complain
Since I have voted in every election since '64, I qualify.
However, your statement is wrong. We do have freedom of speech, still.
Now, to say that you do not want to listen to them complain; well, then I am in your corner.
The Bill of Rights is actually a very good document.

Should I have said that you have no right to complain about what happens next?
I don't like people who complain; when they're unwilling to offer a solution...

I think the right thing is
To have a mandatory option on every ballot labeled "NONE OF THE ABOVE"
I suspect that just might get a majority this year.
