BRP belt tensioner
Thanks for the pictures. How bad were the vibrations before the tensioner? Were they more prevalent at certain speeds? How much tension would you say is on the tensioner, light, medium or heavy?
Thanks again.

There is not a lot of tension on the belt. I can easily lift it up as you saw in the picture. It seems to be enough to stop the vibrations though. My wife has been up to 85mph with it and she said she doesn't feel the vibrations that she had before.
She said that she had vibrations after 40 mph and they were pretty noticeable.

Really hope BRP makes one for the RT.
A lot more RT's out there than F3, and they also have that issue, so would definitely make no sense on their part to only make for the F3..
Time will tell.

I think that the reason it is $50.00US is because it is plastic. Even if they do come out with one for the RT, I would not buy it. I already have enough plastic on my RT. I'm gonna stick with my SmoothSpyder that I have had for 3 years, and I have been quite happy with it. I would upgrade to the newer unit for the RT, rather than buying the one from BRP. I'm not an engineer, but I just don't see a plastic part that gets that much wear lasting as long as a SmoothSpyder or Baker Built.

BRP should make the kit available as a RECALL, you can't tell me that they didn't know of the condition!!! design engineering flaw

Not a safety issue. Recall=safety. No safety issue=no recall.

True. More appropriately it should be termed a TSB that is taken care of only if a customer reports the issue.

Hi
just curious where they have the unit attached? The two aftermarket units attach to what I feel could be a weak point and require cutting body Tupperware...

For anyone with a SmoothSpyder belt tensioner............how many miles have you ridden before having to replace the bearings for the roller?
On the road again...........and forever young!

The vibrations are tolerable for a few seconds, but beyond that they're annoying. On my F3 they can be felt a little below 4000RPM in all gears. I find myself switching gears to avoid staying at those RPMs.
I'm hoping to go for a 3-day ride in late September. I hope we can get our hands on this by then.
