Default Has anyone found a way to remove the start delay using the ECO button?

I know the new police model doesn't have it. It's a real pain to press the eco button & wait for clearance to start the F3's. Sometimes I think I could leave the key in it as most people won't know how to start it. If anyone has mastered removing the start delay--please advise--I have read the warning on the left service panel & while my memory isn't the greatest I don't need that 3-5 second delay.
Thank you kindly for any assistance,
    Darrell

    Default No short cuts.....😞

I have not heard of the eco button thing....on the older models you had to press the mode button. On the RS turn on the key hit the mode button then the start button and your off...the /RT's take much longer but the F3 were supposed to be faster...

It gives you time to get your helmet cinched into place, and your gloves slid on!

    Default No Way

Per BRP, no way to defeat it. It's in the software/Hardware. That was brought up at Spyderfest. New models that has been eliminated.

    Default Start delay

It would not surprise me if BRP installed the start delay under the misguided assumption that we would all be using this extra time to read the safety card.

I don't know what year your F3 is but my '16 F3 Limited has no wait time. I turn the key on, hit the mode button and press start. My baby's running.

Why do you even have to Push a "mode" button. Never had a car, truck, bike or ATV (other than a BRP) that had an "mode" button and they all worked just fine. Has BRP ever given a reason for such a dumb control? It's really the only thing I don't like about my Spyder.

An issue to force you to read the safety card so that BRP could CYA.

Most of us pre 2015'ers have learned to live with it by doing other stuff for the half a minute or so it takes. We all know the safety card does not get read each time. "We don't need no steenkin safety cards."

Are you saying that you don't have to hit the MODE button, prior to starting?

We do on our '15 F3S.

I believe that is what the OP is referring to.

ECO button and MODE button are the same button.

Why? What do you have to wait for? Have you tried pressing ECO/Mode straight after turning the key and then pressing the starter?

There's no need to pay any attention to the display and another owner confirms no delay on their LTD.

Okay maybe I am use to waiting for the screen to show the safety card info, later on I will try to push the eco buton and see if it starts. Thank you for that information.

You're welcome, I was the same but did it absentmindedly one day. Now I don't even look at the display to start it.

No, All F3 are wait free.

Turn the key on and as soon as the gauges sweep (this is also when the can am logo shows up on the color displays) you can press mode, then start. Its about 2 seconds from key on to start.

This works on 2016 and newer RT as well.

It's a stupid delay and serves no function as far as I can see.
Having said that, I've learned to live with it. I start the Spyder, and then put on my gear. By the time I'm done, I can hit the mode button and immediately start the engine.
    It's still a stupid delay.
Did I say that the delay is stupid and foolish ?

Just my opinion. I could be wrong, and if I am, I'm sure someone on this site will let me know.
