Can someone point out which Gold Plug is right for the 1330 engine? Gold Plug doesn’t list Can-Am in its selections.
TIA

You can find generic torque numbers based on the size of the bolt and the thread pitch. Look for a chart on line (Fastenal, Bolt Depot, etc.), or in Machinery's Handbook. At least you'd be in the ballpark.

With people talking about what a fight it is to loosen the plugs you have to think at those relatively low torque settings that they have a gorilla in Austria who doesn't have a calibrated air torque wrench sending those plugs home.

But I don't like guessing. Bear in mind, I changed my oil three months ago so I don't remember (even if I did it 15 minutes ago I would not remember ).

There are several different after-market magnetic drain plugs. When you start looking for them, you will find them listed by which Spyder engines they fit. They are all pretty much the same shape and threads as the stock plugs. The difference is they have a hex head on them and a magnetic plug in the end. Search by which engine you have and you will find the right ones. Some of them have different stock numbers, so not much sense in listing all the numbers. The seller will have the year and engine size the plugs fit in the specs for them.

If you order Gold Plugs the drain plug for the 1330 engine is MP-18. The drain plug for the 1330 transmission is MP-01.

I realize this is an old thread but I've discovered that at some point since 2019, they apparently replaced the 6mm hex drain plug with a T40 torx. Not any easier to get out though......I'm struggling now with the little bolts that hold the plastic cover on, one of them is so close to what appears to be a ground point that I can't get a box wrench on it! Taking a break now to restore some sanity. This my first oil change at 2000 miles (I know, there is no need to do it now but I want to!) and everything is factory tight!
2020 F3L; gone but not forgotten are all the good miles!

I haven't quite given up but pretty close.....plastic piece out of the way, got on the plug with a vice-grip but no luck! Tried a little heat with a heat gun (afraid to get things very hot, wiring close by), still no luck. I've beat on it with a hammer, driven both a T40 and a 6mm into it, hole is now pretty much round. Still not loose. Now what? Drill and tap for an easy out I guess.

If you can't get a good hold with vise grips then I think a drill and easy out is next. Good luck.
