    Default Harbor Freight Cycle Lift

Do those of you that have the Harbor Freight cycle lift that is now on sale for 69.99, feel that you use it enough to have bought it? I want to get one, but not if it is only going to be used once in a blue moon. Only thing that
I could think of using it for is changing brakes. Not sure since it is under the center of bike if you could change oil, or what ever. Just curious. Don't want to buy another piece of equipment to take up room in the garage, since
I had to get rid of stuff just to make room for the Spyder. If anyone has a picture of exactly where to jack up, it would be appreciated also.
    I have a 2010 RT.
    Thanks

Default You can never have enough tools....

I use that kind of lift for many jobs. Strangely not for oil changes. But even for cleaning it works well. I also do all my own work. Now if you only wash and do oil changes you may not use it that often but will miss it when you need it.

I have one and use it quite often, including for changing the oil. For oil changes, I lift it up a foot or so, then set the Spyder on jack stands and remove the lift. Getting the Spyder off the ground gives me more room to work when removing the drain plugs.

I have one and it is still in the box. I've had it almost two years. Anyone living in the Central, Flarda, area wanting it for free, PM me.

Do you have the link or a pic to the cycle lift you are referring to from HF? What is the weight capacity?

I bought mine in 2008 and used it a lot with my Royal Stars for oil changes cleaning and maintenance/repair tire changing and storing/moving the bike. The built in lock works very well,we kept my friend's Harley Ultra on it for two years while he was away. With the Spyder I don't use it so much any more. Now I just run it up on some ramps and use a floor jack to lift the rear level and put a 3rd ramp under the rear wheel.

I wanted to get one years ago when I had 4-wheelers and I found a kit that works on your floor jack. Just take the round plate off your jack and replace it with the piece like the cycle lift. Works slick!! When your done just take it off and lean it against the wall out of the way.

Nothing to be ashamed of in working out the easiest way for you to achieve the desired end of getting the oil in the Harley changed! As far as I can see, it shows that despite the inexorable grind of age overtaking some of your agility, your mind is still showing the smarts necessary to get the job done without too much more lying on the ground & possibly sweating enough to drown in while you're down there!!

Maybe you could help Bardar in his search for a Hydraulic Jack... know anyone who's got one they aren't using?!
Hey, you might be able to help out two people in the one deal?!
