I did not get instructions with my oil change kit. dealer said they are not included!!! So I need to know the torgue values on the plugs. never changed oil on the 1330 myself so any advice is appreciated. Thanks

I don't remember the value, but IMO the torque value is just to keep you from stretching or stripping the threads. I just tighten them until snug then a "tiny" bit more. That is of course if you aren't doing a head or something that has to be equal on each bolt. Of course, I could be dead wrong, but I can live with it.

I've never used a torque wrench on oil plugs. Like Bill said, just tighten them until they're tight, then give them one more gentle nudge. That's all I've ever done on any of my bikes or the Spyder and never had a problem.

Torque wrenches are generally long like a pry bar making it easy to snap or strip bolts. Snug it up then give it a 1/4 turn more....

When I changed oil on my 1330 I really wanted to torque the drain plugs to spec but, I just could not do it. The torque seemed excessive and unnecessarily tight. Snug is enough.

I have changed the oil on my RT about 5-6 times now and I also just snug them up. I then check for any leaks after running. Once or twice I have had to tighten one of them down a little more to stop a little seepage, but for me that is better than stripping them out. Probably next oil change I will switch over to the hex bolts kit, which will be more durable in the long haul.
